Very hard work with the management often making it harder
Very long shifts doing back breaking work. Management have a real disconnect between what’s going on on the wings and how the staff feel to what they decide to do. Very little communication between management and staff about what’s going on, often visitors are telling carers what the new rules are as we don’t know. Most staff are nice but there are often staff that don’t get on which cause big upsets. Some shifts can be nice and some can be horrendous which makes it worse as you never know what kind of day you’re going to have. New management never come on the wings so they don’t see the difficulties we have day to day.Service Administration Manager in Regional

Friendly and Supportive Colleagues
Still getting established into the role but feel that I have been greeted by nothing other than excellent supportive colleagues who are genuinely eager to help you and grateful for everything you do in return! Induction and training given has really given me the time and understanding to settle into my new role well.Operations Support Manager in Field Based

So far so good
I am currently in my fourth week of working for MHA, having previously worked for other large, charitable care organizations. I have been so impressed with MHA and their values which seem truly embedded in everyone that i have met. What has been refreshing, is that MHA actually care about the residents who live within MHA communities and those who work for MHA too and invest in the welfare of them all. So far there have been no regrets in making a change to work for MHA. Senior Nurse in Lesmahagow

Not a good en or ment to work. No clear guidance anywhere and lack of any type of support.
Beautiful setti g to work. Very poor resouses for residents. Dementia patients are bottom of the ladder for support outwith the unit. Nursing staff are overrules by care staff. All resources geared toward residential residents. Very poor food portions offered. Need to be thick skinned, management listen to care staff over nurses, nursing staff ostracised if vocal. Very poor staff support, or acknowledgement for good work from management. Unfortunate. Health Care Assistant in Aberystwyth

Stressful
Very stressful environment, long hours when working with dementia, little support, alot of sucking up to managment, if you dont suck up to managment you will get no where. What would you say about your employer?
