Metropolitan Police Employee Review
Undervalued and understaffed
Police Constable (Former Employee) - West London, Greater London - 5 September 2023
It's hard to sum up the police because one minute it's the best job ever and the next the worst. I enjoyed the working with mates and in a close knit group but when you are asked to work yourself to the bone and seemingly get no recognition for your hard work, it gets draining. I wouldn't put someone off from joining but am equally not surprised when someone leaves.

Good
Police Constable (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 7 December 2023
It’s a decent job. I may be stressful sometimes but I think when you apply for this kind of job you need to be prepared it’s not going to be a piece of cake and only east days

Not valued
Detective Constable (Current Employee) - vauxhall, london, Greater London - 4 December 2023
Staff welfare not cared for and morale is terrible. Used to be a good job , been eroded year on year and now I wouldn't recommend anyone to join. Sad state of affairs.

Retired
Retired Police Officer (Former Employee) - West London - 27 January 2023
I retired 12 years ago and it would appear the senior management are reaping the rewards of very poor management. I could see it when I was working, corner cutting, ie course length shortened to save money. The standard of officers joining, lack of assessment, degree entry only (thick as soup) Woke practices on how crime is investigated or not. Either lazy or incompetent officer’s across all ranks. It is now a complete basket case. Toxic environment
Pros
At the moment, none
Cons
Woke practices has brought the offices they have
