Badly Managed

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Work is kept secretive until 4pm, not able to make plans. encouraged to speed to get the job done. no interaction between management & staff. Wages held back if you leave, aggressive & unfriendly staff. The business culture needs to change to make it successful, otherwise its just another company to work for. The job adverts are misleading & you will be penalised if you're slower than the others, wages will be reduced regardless.

Good place of work

I'm working for Mick George for over 9 years now. Throughout this time I've experienced support from management whenever it was needed. I was never worried about PPE as it was provided for me since the beginning. Hours can be long, but Mick George always appreciates it and work hard is awarded. It's a good place to work for.

Don't work for this company

Stay away at all costs you will be bullied and put down at every turn no matter how hard you work. Nothing is ever good enough and you constantly are micro managed at every turn

Perfect place to get grey hair quicker

Regular job with stressfull days as planned routes may be changed without even calling you.surelly phone call could cost less than wasted diesel.lorries are full of mud inside and out due to job nature.difficult to get holiday book it 12 month in advance if you don't want to loose it. Work colleagues drivers are nice and ready to help. Be aware of other people that you don't usually see and only speak to them over the phone

Worse place to work - tipper driver rushden

Do not work for these, management are bullies, constantly on you all the time. They pick on certain individuals, and keep going and going, until you leave. Then there onto their next victim.

Pros

None

Cons

Long hours, expect to much of you. No family life

Just stay away

Long hours, no life, low pay, clueless management, constant lies and pushing, trucks falling apart and no one cares and have to wait months to fix. This company is one bad joke

Plenty of hours . No family life . Concrete poor management. Pay was not to bad.

Avoid concrete messy and rubbish pay with poor management and no family life . Tippers not to bad if u like a 6-6 with a bit better money and slot better management.

Pros

Good for drivers who want to start a career as will take anyone on

Cons

Long hours poor management

Backstabbing and selfishness is rewarded, there are some good people but not a high level of professionalism in the highest ranks

Horrible tense work environment and I was once shouted at and humilated in front of the whole open plan office by the owner for something that had happened when I was not even in the office and had not been told about.

Great place to work, management and transport coordinators always ready to help.Good work atmosphere, good pay rate plus bonuses and definitely modern fleet of trucks are massive benefits for your journey as class 2 driver. 20days off and all Bank Holiday are off. Highly recommended. All necessary training and information are provided to give you a good and fresh start.

Pros

To work in mick george is not easiest think, but people who want carrier opportunities that is the best place. If you work hard you will be noticed and supported on your way up. Demolition team have really great people from labours to managers, maybe i do not agree with all decisions but most of them know what they doing. Money are good, companies values are changing in good way, they appreciate everyone’s hard work and show it.

Fast paced and ruthless organisation

Firstly I’d like to say that most of my co workers were a joy to work with and a great team at most sites .How ever as a team player it was difficult an frustrating at times . With high levels of waste and incompetence.

Horrible place to work

If you don’t want a summer holiday this could be the perfect job for you, no personal interaction, and everything controlled by a phone app on Samsung

Friendly work environment

Work environment was really friendly, a family run business and it is like one big work family! Management listen and work to understand you and your individual needs. Great support from managers and peers. They value people who work hard.

Pros

Provide a great work life balance, management & directors are approachable & supportive

Cons

Seemed to be a high turnover of staff in some departments, which can cause internal delays in processes

Dirty sites

Don't go there if you don't have to. Office there is not helpful, just pushing you to do more jobs... Dirty sites, lorries are dirty inside and in the best condition...

Pros

None

Cons

Long hours, pressure from office.
