Interesting experience
Support Worker (Former Employee) - Fazeley, Staffordshire - 17 April 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedIt was an interesting experience that im not keen to repeat. Staff had set cliques it made life difficult when you require support with difficult service users. Manager at the time was unapproachable and wasnt helpful when dealing with bullying. Some long serving staff were so lovely and helpful and the majority of service users were lovely and kind

Dreadful place
Support Worker (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 16 August 2023
I started with this company a couple of months ago. It’s a disaster waiting to happen. Mangers do not adhere to CQC and lots of things are ignored. The support at the service I worked at were not supported the way they should, under ratio, staff on mobile phones. Staff are not trained properly, which is not their fault. If you want a job where you can basically do what you want then this is for you. If you genuinely care then don’t bother.

Challenging but rewarding!
Support Worker (Former Employee) - Coventry - 7 April 2023
Love every second working with Midway! Sometimes it can be overwhelming but usually there's another staff member who can step in for a bit or swap services with you. Rotas are a pain sometimes but that's the nature of the job! Management is at times poor but if the team work together, any challenges can be worked through.
Pros
When a good team works together, the positive changes are amazing to see!
Cons
No set rota. Rota constantly changing.

Poor management
Care Worker (Former Employee) - Tamworth - 10 January 2023
Really poor locality manager , never worked for a manager who really is awful, service it’s self is lovely great service users although can have behaviours which is not told to you when you start, and end up finding this out when it’s to late, some staff are experience and helpful, some are not, although most of good long serving staff have left, Rota is done to suits themselves and theirs friends first, then others have the left overs, and management approves this, great training programmes by midway but locality manager, doesn’t want you to succeed has no one is good enough to climb career ladder, overall company is great no issues, but has they don’t see what goes on on-site with locality manager and staff this wouldn’t of been bad job, if higher managers listened to staff about locality manager, needs real improvement on-site
Pros
Good company and service
Cons
Poorly run by locality manager

Jobs at Midway Care Group
Hard work, but totally rewarding
Employee Relations Specialist (Current Employee) - Acocks Green, West Midlands - 23 December 2022
I've worked at Midway for just over a year and have enjoyed every second. So many members of our team are completely dedicated to our Service Users, and wanting the best outcomes for them. It's a delight to witness. There's opportunities to make a genuine difference to people's lives here. I have seen MCG evolve already during my year with them, and the improvements made I believe are for the best of everyone involved.

Clients run the show
Support Worker (Former Employee) - Leamington Spa - 12 November 2022
Awful experience, poorly run, poorly organized, no work/home balance, mainly supporting with mental health despite what they tell you, ocassions of violence and aggression towards staff which is ignored by management who want to paper over the cracks, schoolyard mentality amongst the staffing team, avoid at all costs if you value your sanity!!!

Not a great place to work
Team Leader (Current Employee) - Warwickshire - 22 June 2022
Can’t quite believe this is a care company, not a great culture with very little support but plenty of criticism at every and any opportunity… Senior management team are in reachable and believe they are above everyone else.. No response with HR and no seems to listen to the staff The services users are amazing and get a good quality of care from the staff teams around them. Staff turn over is really bad..can’t imagine why?!?!?
Pros
Staff teams are real caters
Cons
Everything else

Enjoyable work place
Support Worker (Former Employee) - Walsall - 21 June 2022
The support workers at midway care group are excellent support workers who are great at what they do, the home has a calm homely environment. The seniors are very hard working and ensure the standards of the home are met. Manager was kind and understanding.

Areas to improve
Team Leader (Current Employee) - Black Country, Oldbury - 4 June 2022
I work in the black country area and I can't complain about my management team of locality manager and deputy locality manager, they are brilliant and always helping staff to progress and trying to do the right things in all situations. Unfortunately their good work is let down by higher up management who seem to override a lot of their decisions, leading to a rather unruly staff team who believe they can do whatever they want and once reprimanded by locality manager, deputy locality manager or myself (team leader) they will complain to higher management and will normally get their way, it's unfortunate that such a good place to work can be ruined by heads of the company and the unruly staff team

Great place to work have worked on all services throughout the Black Country, really thoughtful management team would recommend
Support Worker (Current Employee) - Black Country - 11 May 2022
Management team and team leaders are more than helpful and care about residents and staff. They are always available. Some of the flats should be updated and modernised but that is down to housing providers. Every day is different and enjoyable.

Great management
Support Worker (Current Employee) - Oldbury, West Midlands - 9 May 2022
I can honestly say, I have loved working with Midway Care. I've worked alongside a great group of people who genuinely care about the clients and my immediate managers and team leader have been nothing but supportive and kind. No job is perfect but you get back what you put in. I definitely recommend working here.
Pros
Supportive Managers and Team Leader. Very rewarding. Overtime if you want it. Friendly staff team.

Can be fun stressful amazing productive negative positive that’s the beauty of care
Support Worker (Former Employee) - Sutton house - 7 May 2022
It’s a good place to work for if you don’t mind working hard for your money, they always paid me on time there was never any late payments etc, some of the older workers have a chip on there shoulders & can be a pain to work with as they will act like they know it all, but on the whole if you can get past that & you know how to stand your ground respectfully then this can be quiet a good job to do while you figure out your next long term job etc There’s jobs out there the same as this that pay more, the hours can be long 8-10 shifts but I have to admit I made the best of working here & overall have better memories than negative, I still have friends who work there I stay in touch with. You will learn In this job and with this company they train staff regularly

Not a good place to work
Support Worker (Former Employee) - Wednesbury, West Midlands - 13 April 2022
Horrible place to work. The dynamics of the team was disappointing. Lot so back biting - unsupportive environment. Supervision was pointless. I would not recommend working there
