If you like sales then this is the job for you, however if you expect to concentrate on the technical side and fix appliances then expect constant badgering from management about your lack of sales. The job is great driving around visiting customers and fixing faults is rewarding and I liked it. Micro management from line managers is commonplace. Pay is fair but not worth the mental trauma. Greedy senior management, have no idea about Miele customers and their expectations, company philosophy or ethics. Cannot say what office work is like.


Good discount on great appliances.

Field Service Technician

Fix appliances and keep the customer happy, well it used to be that. Now there seems to be a BIG push to sell appliances and accessories and more emphasis on this than the repair side of things, this is OK if you enjoy selling. Saying all this, the appliances are better than your typical ones as are most customers.Sadly the ethos has changed and spoilt the atmosphere and slowly damaging the brand.

it was a good place to work, it had its benefits and it also had its challenges. it was a new experience and it helped with character building so good overall

Very efficient way of working. In house training both theory and practical in field with other technician is excellent.It is physically hard as appliances are heavy and integrated ones often poorly installed. When appliance is fixed on first visit it is very satisfying.

Fantastic product, poor management

Great product, shame that senior management are so out of touch. Engineers are expected to work 24/7 whilst management sit back. From an engineers perspective, top of the range van, quality tools and training, full uniform, laptop etc. Good discounts on products too. Work/life balance is a big problem, so much so that a union has now been bought in to assist in future development plans as managements demands on staff we so bad. Given the chance, I'd go back to them tomorrow but only if the management structure had changed from the very top downwards.
