Would not recommend this company to anybody
100% undervalued, Underpaid, overworked, no respect for staff or staff welfare from managment..management are bullies unless you're face fits & u suckup..no confidentially what so ever, supervisions are not worth having as managment repeat to other staff whats been disgust & slag staff off around other services..I could go on & on.

Challenging but rewarding
Mirus is a great company that offers all the training you may need for your new role. Though sometimes challenging the rewards far outweigh the negatives. You will get to make a huge difference to a lot of amazing individuals all of whom have special needs. You will have to use your initiative and be able to work within a team. You will have to be able to follow directions and stick to the care plans. You will have to arrange doctors/dental appointments along with finding ways to enhance your service users life. I.e. activities, holidays etc you will be expected to do household chores such as cleaning, laundry and cooking. You will also be responsible for ordering medication and administering. This may seem like a big responsibility but I promise you will be very happy in your work

Disappointing
When I was offered a job as a Support Worker with Mirus I was excited and looking forward to the opportunity. The reality has been far different and pretty much the opposite of how they sell themselves. To start with there is a poor culture and a real us and them approach, and I have never met a senior manager. We are also massively understaffed so things don't get get done and people can't get out or often be supported to do things at all. My training didn't take place when they said it would and some of it still hasn't. Some of the people I work with are committed but many are not and that means service users don't get proper support. I still want to work with people with learning disabilities but I'm going to look elsewhere.

Undervalued Support Staff!
I still work for Mirus as I am committed to the guys I support, but if it wasn't for that I'd leave. There are so many vacancies that the support has gone down hill. They put the pay up but it doesn't seem to have made any difference to recruitment. I think that's because they don't really care and have a reputation for harsh and bad management of their staff. Our manager is inexperienced and not supported leading to them making bad decisions and bullying behaviour. Overall it's all gone downhill here and someone needs to do something about it, but they never do.

Disorganised leading to mistakes and bad support
The most senior management of this company are out of touch with there staff. The middle management feed them false information about how well things are going. Things are not going well and Support Workers do not have the support they need. In company literature it is all smiles and success but this is just not a true reflection of reality. Shake up the management from the top and maybe we can pull it back from the brink.
