Nice team to work with
Quality Manager (Former Employee) - Coventry, West Midlands - 8 January 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI enjoyed my time with Mission Foods, the technical and operations team are leaded by people who know their job. Long time employees are happy with their job(you can find people working there for 20 years). I had a very good team to manage and each one of the QAs were awesome to deal with.

terrible agency no training given to new staff
production Operative Temp (Former Employee) - United Kingdom - 5 July 2022
there is pretty much no training given to new people most people are miserable working there but can't afford to quit the pay sounds good but really is not close to good enough for the amount of strain the actual work puts on a parsons body and the agency dose absolutely nothing to make anyone's life any easier in fact in my experience they made life harder which makes people walk out of the job i would not recommend working here

Burned out
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Sunderland - 15 June 2022
Would be a great job if the automation Worked. When it goes down which is regularly, one person ends up having to do the work of three people. Ended up hurting my back.

Bad Agency, Long Hours, Tired Staff
Packer/Picker (Former Employee) - Seaham, Durham - 12 February 2022
I was initially tricked/coerced into going here; I didn't apply and was invited as part of a few days course I was on, in Food Production, which I did to fill in some spare time; before I knew it I was been presented with a contract to sign. I thought it was just part of the course to learn some practical examples and have a tour of a food manufactuer. The agency were quite stringent with their times to set the weeks' shifts, with only around 2 hours per week allocated by the agency for this. I was too busy to call during those particular 2 hours. The Agencys' communication was poor, as they were expecting me at work at a time in which I told them twice I was not available for, and therefore would not be able to work that shift. Only 12 hour shifts available during inconvenient times for me. Training was not provided so you needed to learn on the job. Was allocated several 15 minute breaks, which were useful as the factory floor was quite tough on feet. Was physically and mentally exhausting and after one shift was clear that it was not a sustainable job for me. Hopefully things have changed since I worked there. The factory experience was poor as management didn't seem to have time to support staff and the agency was exceptionally poor. I must say as one positive, the staff were hardworking and supportive of each other, which really helped me get through; the camaraderie was exemplary in a situation which seemed difficult for all.
Pros
Several Breaks offered Zero-Hours Contract
Cons
All of the above

Hygiene Team leader (Current Employee) - Seaham, Durham - 13 February 2020
Every day is educational and the staff are friendly. The job can be very rewarding if you put the time into it but you can also just do a very basic job

Not the worst company to work for
Mixing Operator (Former Employee) - Tile Hill - 28 February 2019
A typical day at work starts about 6.50 PM near clock in device where
a member of management team will assign you to your daily position. You could be expected to do any work at warehouse (packing/ stacking / warehouse /mixing dough/ measuring seasoning or mixing preservatives) depends what you was trained for.
Pros
4 days ON/OFF work
Cons
No overtimes, no bank holiday pay, sick pay

Productive work place
Machine Operator (Current Employee) - Coventry - 14 March 2018
Mission Food - company where I grew up.
In 5 years time I learned many things. Like operate different machines, feeling up the paperwork, understand where are good quality product where are not and many other things.
Work as a team or individually.
As well I made good relationships with always helpful management, colleagues.
Also, I had difficult days, because of machines issues, but that days just gave to me more knowledges and experience.
I enjoyed to be the part of that team.
