Not for everyone
Lots of mental health, people that don’t want to be helped and arguing with the police at times but all shifts are different and there are a few pros! Detainee Custody Officer in Gatwick

Let down by unpredictability
Very comprehensive training for this role, its a serious job and should be treated as such. Main issue for me was unpredictability, You could be sat at home for days then called in out of the blue for an undetermined amount of time. Due to the nature of the role you could be awake for 24 hours, whilst it had its plus's and a few good taskings it was already starting to affect my health adversely after a few months.Staff Nurse in Teesside, North Yorkshire

Awful
Rubbish maternity, care about the business not their employees! Reducing wages but still expected to do the same work. Removing experienced staff to replace with less experience to save a penny Manager of Religious Affairs and Diversity Champion in Oxford

A Collaborative & Excellent Team
The Senior Manager stated clear vision and strategy, encouraged team work and inter-functions collaboration. Teams were focused and supportive. Detainees were respected and given a voice. Diversity and Equality was promoted - cultural kitchen, visits and sessions. Great opportunities to work across other business units within the group and contribute to strategy. The Directors were goal getters! They were strategic and promoted creativity.Forensic Medical Examiner ( police surgeon) in Derby
