Immediate response officer. (Current Employee) - Southampton - 4 December 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Pay wrong, they don't care about there people, career development none existent. It's like they haven't moved out of the 90s with there book on system pay dates and attitudes, I would be embarrassed if I was the CEO of this company, if your not in management they don't care about you. Run and keep running if they offer you a job. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The attitude of the senior management the pay date and never knowing if my money will be right. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? It's miserable, being tupeed across to them was the worst thing to happen to myself and colleagues. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Just wanting to phone in sick but needing to go in for the money. It's just miserable

Overworked, underpaid
Assistant Manager (Current Employee) - Craigavon, County Armagh - 8 November 2023
The workplace stress on certain departments is much higher than other contracts within the business. Money is always an issue however payroll complaints never go away. Managers trying their best including out of hours work to cover sickness and holidays just isn't appropriate amount of work for the pay.

Poor senior management and lack of care for staff
Security Supervisor (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 7 November 2023
Uniform takes more than a year to arrive, no PPE prepared for staff for the winter season, senior management delegate all their work to the supervisors, underpaid with only a 2.3% pay rise even though we are in a cost of living crisis. Not worth the time and effort.

Depends what client you work for
Security Guard (Former Employee) - Yorkshire and Humberside - 12 October 2023
It pays a wage if you put the hours in and that is if you get the hours one month to the next,Theres alot of favourism over other staff who get looked after meaning family/friends. Working on different client sites so job can be different one day to the next and if the client likes you,you may get another shift there.

Vastly improved
Security Officer/Supervisor (Current Employee) - Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh - 20 September 2023
Mitie had a reputation back in the day. However, this has changed for the better. Bad middle/senior management drove the bad reviews. With the online portal access to every department you will ever makes life with Mitie very easy. Mitie is no longer a company for those who can only do but want to do the job!
Pros
Death in Service, Csp, HR/Payroll Portal, Good working conditions etc
Cons
Too many "can only do security" instead of "wanting to do security"

Security in retail with Mitie
Security Officer (Current Employee) - Eastbourne, East Sussex - 14 September 2023
I have had the privilege of working as a security officer for Mitie Security in a retail environment, and it has been a rewarding experience overall. Here are the aspects that I appreciate: Team Collaboration (5/5 stars): Mitie Security fosters a strong sense of teamwork. I have had the pleasure of working with dedicated colleagues who are not only skilled but also supportive. Our team's cohesion has contributed significantly to a safer and more efficient work environment. Professional Development Opportunities (4/5 stars): Mitie Security provides opportunities for professional growth. They encourage employees to enhance their skills through training programs and certifications. While there could be more structured career development paths, the company's commitment to learning is commendable. Work-Life Balance (4/5 stars): Maintaining a work-life balance is essential, and Mitie Security recognizes this. Scheduling flexibility has allowed me to manage personal commitments effectively. However, occasional shifts during weekends and holidays are part of the job, which can be a challenge for some. Safety Culture (5/5 stars): Safety is paramount in a security role, and Mitie Security places a strong emphasis on it. They provide the necessary resources and support to ensure we can perform our duties safely. This commitment to safety is something I highly value. Client Interaction (3/5 stars): Working in a retail environment involves frequent interaction with clients and customers. While most interactions are positive, dealing with difficult situations can be challenging at times. -

Mitie is a good company to work for but it's too big
Security Officer (Current Employee) - Leeds - 7 September 2023
Though Mitie is a good company to work for, where we work we don't 'feel' Mitie. We are left at the mercy of the Facility manager. We don't have someone to complain to. We don't have proper uniform fit for the weather. We walk a lot but we but the shoes are not right. When it's very hot we can't wear a cap. When it's cold we can't were a hut. Yet all this time we are outside.
Pros
You can get overtime if you want.
Cons
We don't have somewhere one sit to take a break when eating.

Mess around with hours then ges angry for you getting angry.
SIA Door Supervisor (Current Employee) - Oxford brooks - 7 September 2023
It took the company three months to employ me, they gave me next to no hours, and then when they did give me hours for a "busy week", they took them all, and said it wouldn't really be that busy, only told me once I had checked their stupid app. Then when I get ticked off about it, I lose all three my other shifts. I have never been this messed around or made this stressed about a job before.
Pros
None
Cons
Long hours, toxic management, a d so very dull

Would be the best job ever if it weren't for management
Security Officer (Current Employee) - Cumbria - 4 September 2023
Any form of leadership is terrible, can never get though to managers and supervisors have no interest in doing their own job. Still waiting on pay I'm owed from 2 months ago.. Security officers are great the job itself is great the client is great but between management and supervisors it's unbearable. The slogan we are one is rubbish as normal there is us and them. Each year out pay moves closer to minimum wage. Decent officers are constantly leaving due to management neglect.
Pros
Good client
Cons
The worst management I have experienced
