The folk you work with are cool and your immediate management really look out for you. The higher ups couldn't care less. Same as most places really.The shifts are long but it's not hard work, the money is good. As a guard you will be looked down on and treated poorly from some of the other staff in the buildings.

Waste of my time . Lost all working confidence by the end . My supervisor would hang up on me whenever I tried to raise and report any health and safety issues to them. Nothing was resolved. Ended up having to leave as was not an adequately safe workplace

I would never work for Mitie again

From the beginning of my employment to the end management was the biggest problem. Managers didn’t care about the employees we were looked at as numbers. As a example I went to my manager with a problem that Mitie had made the mistake and the manger said and I quote “that sounds like a you problem” as soon as he said this I started to look for another job. My site supervisor is an amazing guy who would help anyone. I made an arrangement to work a month’s notice (I only needed to give 2 weeks) he was gonna keep me as zero hour to help him which I didn’t mind. But the manager said he wouldn’t do it unless I signed for shifts there and then. Which I didn’t want to do. Mitie management are the problem they take it personally when staff want holiday or leave due to their lack of management ability. I have been with the company 3+ years and it has never got better.

The worst company I have worked for

the management are so bad they don't do nothing for you put hoilday in dont get them they want you to take them on your rest days never get your rota on time you have to phone up to see next time your in .never see your contact they lie to you cant trust them and you don't get a break. I broken my foot on site and I got a Disciplinary for it please don't work for this company

Don't expect anything different from Mitie . Just another industry company that tick boxes and you are nothing more than a source of profit for them . The sooner this industry is fully legislated , the better , nothing less is acceptable .

Very poor management

I’m a current employee and I would advise strongly against working for this cowboy outfit I tupeed over to Mitie a while ago and they are disgraceful management are very very poor and couldn’t care less about the staff I’m currently looking for a new job elsewhere .

It baffles me how any self respecting Cilent would want this so called security company to handle their security needs. They do not answer the phone to staff. I was not provided a uniform in 2 years with them and had to make do with what I could and was given a yellow viz and jacket by a client.

I've worked for mitie for 5 years and it's a very fast pased and stressful job the money we're on an hour is not enough we are the lowest paid security officers in stoke on trent and for the job we do we need a proper pay rise as we are the front line security

Mitie as a company are ok but the management are not interested in you or how many shifts they give you. Sometimes you will be doing 8 shifts in a row. There is no planning and you find out 2 weeks in advance as to what you have. Then it changes and you are not told about it. That's up to you to find out in your portal. So you look in the morning and then by the afternoon things have changed. And there is no movement regardless if you had plans they are not interested.

The management despise us

We are on 9.10. We are expected to cut our hours so that relief workers on 9.68 can have extra hours. When there are extra shifts for overtime, you can only have them if the relief shift workers cannot make it. These relief workers all have full time jobs with other companies. They send you out at the busiest time of the day to sites. You spend 2 hours driving in unbearable traffic and 5 minutes on site. You worked it out. The main site has laptops and bags stolen because we are not there. It is more important to be stuck in a traffic jam, than looking after our clients who pay our wages. If you are involved in an incident you are not allowed to write your own report. Any suggestions on improvement are treated with contempt. It is obvious the management think that we must be so stupid to work for 9.10 an hour.

Mitie r not good management are very rude wages are not right some times if you have your say you get punished wages are all over the place some get 9.50 some get 9.20 I get 8.57p and some other guards get 8.21 the firm needs investigating by the sia and the government
