Stay well clear
Painter and Decorator (Former Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 4 March 2022
This company is an absolute shambles to work for, they price all jobs for 2-3 coats and pay you to hit it with one coat, they put you on price work with prices barely achivable and if you do make the price or bonus they are looking for as many ways as possible to take it from you, they lie and cheat there way through everything, they are stuck in the dark ages, management couldnt give a momkeys about you just there on pockets, do not work for this company worst i have ever worked for, just STAY WELL AWAY from here.

Very poor company to work for
Painter and Decorator (Former Employee) - Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh - 15 February 2022
Very poor company to work for. There price work is so out of date plus all there prices are for 1 coat of paint even though they are priced for 2-3 coats. If you are working outside and it rains they pay your wages at a basic rate then take it back off you bonus until they recoup the days pay from been rained off. Manager is living in the dark ages from when he was on the tools and treat the staff the same way he must have been treated and isn’t for change.

Very toxic
Painter and Decorator (Former Employee) - Watford - 18 December 2021
The worst company I’ve ever worked for, price based work but always skimming money off the price no incentive to work working conditions are not great you are expected to work out side even when raining. No future prospects to further your career and bullied by management if your face doesn’t fit, a very corrupt company to work for

Employed full time you are given prices to do jobs as a painter , if outside you do not get paid if rained off , no travelling expenses , if you don't hit your target price you're lucky to earn minimum wage for the week
Pros

Badly managed.
Painter and Decorator (Former Employee) - Shepton Mallet, Somerset - 26 April 2020
As a painter with 40 years experience I was made to feel pretty worthless. The main problem being a supervisor who doesn't give a toss about any of his staff, never answers his phone and when I resigned screwed me over with my outstanding holiday pay. Be very wary of working for this company, not a problem with the guys you actually work with just the management that have their heads up their own backside.

Waste of time.
Painter/Decorator (Former Employee) - Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire - 30 March 2020
Company itself was ok even thou they employ people on zero hours contracts. They pay on time and didn't have to work very hard to get good money. Menagment team from the other hand wasn't working in companies favour. Not qualified to organise brooms in the cupboards. Many times they were unable to confirm completion of the job assuming you falsified timeshits. Many people were deducted money based on that rule, strange no one was sacked over that. Avoid
Pros
They have nice logo
Cons
crooks

Jobs at MITIE
Painter positionsGood
Painter and Decorator (Former Employee) - Plymouth, MS - 5 March 2020
Did my apprenticeship at Mitie and learned so much about the painting life and getting to know the lads and have a laugh. Couldn’t even use a brush when I started but working with different people taught me new things day in and day out and easy to get along with everyone. Wouldn’t be in the place I am now if it wasn’t for the support of the boys and management.
