Bad place to work. Employees being treated like trash. High employee turnover, 20 mins breaks, no place to park and its your problem, minimum salary and no opportunities to develop if your face doesn't fit.

Draining
Production Operative (Current Employee) - Livingston, West Lothian - 8 January 2023
Childish, Like school, short breaks, progression not as simple as made out to be, turnover is very poor but expected as there’s no progression within 12 hour shifts

Slow and monotonous
Production Operative (Current Employee) - Livingston - 17 October 2022
Terrible company to work for where each employee is treated as a number. On site parking is terrible and you will be looked down upon by management and made to feel inferior

Horrible and depressing.
Production Operative (Current Employee) - Livingston - 16 October 2022
Currently working here and it’s awful and soul destroying! if your face doesn’t fit then you will be targeted by management. 15 months working here and now it’s clear as day why they can’t keep staff! Health and safety only matters when it suits the management and supervisors. They simply do not care for the employees, you are literally just a number in here! The power gets to the managers and supervisors heads! I’ve never worked in a place like this!

None
Cons
list is too big

Avoid. No respect for staff at all.
Production Operator (Current Employee) - Livingston, West Lothian - 9 October 2022
Toxic working environment.Management are shocking. They seem to think you can do more than one job at once while the lazy workers get away with doing not very much.Instead of dealing with slackers they expect you to do your job and help them at the same time.No team work at all.Childish antics on the line allowed.Certain staff leave their position to walk about talking to others but because they're in the clique it's allowed.Never worked in a place where screws etc are chucked up and down the line as if your back in high school.Promoting from within isn't any good when the line leaders and pc's have no man management skills and your more likely to be treated with contempt rather than respect.High staff turnover with new starts walking out mid shift.A lot don't even last a few days. There are plenty of jobs about and you would only want to work here if you were desperate, even then you will leave pretty quickly. The wage advertised should be NMW plus shift allowance because if you do overtime on dayshift it will be your standard 9.50 per hour.Didnt think sweat shops were allowed in the UK but it feels like it when it's hard grafting for 11 hours of a 12 hour shift.2x15 min breaks and a 30 minute breaks your lot
Pros
3x12 hr shifts.Nothing else
Cons
The list is too long

Ruined by Management
Engineer (Current Employee) - Livingston, West Lothian - 19 August 2022
Would be an interesting job and challenging place to work if not for the managers, one in particular is a snake. Turnover was high but settled down for now. Never complimented for all the good, only critical for the most mundane reasons seems to be their default. Thick skin required to work here.

Life in the Mitsubishi lane
Technical Operator (Current Employee) - Livingston, West Lothian - 17 August 2022
This job has been fantastic for me and my family. The pay well with shift allowance on top of basic competitive rates. Working 3 days a week and 4 once every 4 weeks is a game changer. I have also made friends for life. The work isnt as fast paced as other have said compared to other places but will keep you on your toes and stop you clock watching a being bored.
Pros
Good pay, holidays and progression
Cons
Long hours (12 hours)

Cons
Long long hours

Physically and mentally draining
Production Operator (Current Employee) - Livingston, West Lothian - 10 August 2022
There have certainly been pros and cons at Mitsubishi Electric for me so far. I don't believe it's anywhere near as good as some on here make it out to be, but don't feel it's as bad either. Working on nights, you're there for 12 hours 3 nights per week. Plus an extra Saturday every 4 weeks. It's hard, hard work and isn't just a case of doing 3 shifts. It takes a lot out of you because you're standing pretty much all night with a fast-paced line (considering things are running well). By the end of the week your feet will be killing you but there's plenty of time off afterward. The work itself isn't difficult, at least the jobs I've been given so far. Pretty straightforward but keeping up with the pace is the most difficult part. They'll train you to an extent but really you're just kind of thrown in after being shown something once or twice maximum. It's very sink or swim and the truth is that the high turnover symbolises that it really isn't for everyone. The most frustrating thing for me so far is the amount of times I've been moved to different areas. I've gotten to know people who have become good friends on my line only to be plucked with no prior warning or notice to another line or another building on the site altogether. All of a sudden you're never seeing those people again and you're then trying to build up new friendships in your new area. The most frustrating part is that you effectively feel as though you're back on day 1 of the job. Very frustrating and makes you feel pretty uneasy. At the interview they also went on about company progression. And whilst they -
Pros
Helpful colleagues. A good way to stay fit.
Cons
Break times very short, Progression within the company not as likely as they make out. Favouritism, Can be moved to different areas without any warning.

Great people. Repetitive Work
Operator (Former Employee) - Livingston, West Lothian - 23 June 2022
People were nice. Place was not too clean especially the toilets and pointed this out to them. Breaks are awful, 3x20min break for 12hr shift. I felt rushed especially at lunch time where there would be a queue in the canteen sometimes and wouldn't have time to go to the toilet. Be prepared for very sore feet as the safety shoes they give you are very uncomfortable and you're not allowed to wear your own. Repetitive work and sometimes heavy load so you go to be fit for this part. For what they pay you is definitely not worth the money in any department you work in. I seen many people come and go they don't last. There are different shift patterns to suit everyone which is the best part. I had to leave home early to make sure I always got a parking space.
Pros
Subsidies Canteen. Different Shift Patterns to Suit You. 2 weeks of at Christmas Paid.
Cons
Parking Problems. Standing on Your Feet All Day. Breaks Too Short.

Good Hours.

It’s not exactly interesting work, but the hours are very good and supervisors and managers are nice. Pay is okay, would recommend to working there to anyone looks for work in that industry.

Run for the hills!!!
Production Operative (Current Employee) - Livingston - 27 April 2022
Absolute terrible place to work avoid!! 2 20 minute breaks in 9 hours and if you put your coat on 1 minute before break/home time you get in trouble.
Pros
Half day Friday
Cons
Supervisers, managers, break times, expectations

management was unfair
Production Operator (Current Employee) - Livingston - 10 April 2022
some managers made it feel impossible to have a healthy mind at work, especially if you’re young they tend to pick at younger audiences. when things are made clear that you’re uncomfortable about something or the work you are doing you’re struggling, they don’t understand how you can’t do something as fast as them or are even struggling. you’re made to feel stupid, the higher management need to be paying closer attention to supervisors, line leaders etc. the things they say and do can be horrible
Pros
free coffee, holidays are paid, good experience and job improvement etc and overtime is an option
Cons
the management, the system
