HGV Class 1 Driver in Liverpool, Merseyside
on 29 November 2020
Good for beginners
I had 2 stints at Montys, totalling over 7 years, the job was ok, some planners were good, some awful, the TM at the time was brilliant. I only left when he did. I'd recommend Montgomery for anyone wanting to get into tankers, but unless the pay has increased substantially it's not a job for life. The equipment appears good, but it's all base model trucks with no extras. If you're ever in the yard in Ireland, treat everyone with respect as Harold Montgomery is renowned for wandering around chatting to drivers, especially English lads how the job is. You wouldn't give him a second glance, yet he's richer than the Queen.Overall, a solid middle of the road job.

Nice n steady
A nice place to work, the planners and office staff are very fair and respectful. Left to get on with the job not chased or rushed. Most of the work is easy. Nearly all the trucks have been replaced in the last year. All the equipment is very well maintained.
Tanker Driver in Preston, Lancashire

Strange but true
All road haulage jobs vary but I still work here on tank division. I am gaining experience on tanker side lads in the traffic office in Ireland are bit barmy but you can’t help but love these guys. They have their way of doing things but as a company there ok you get left to do it
Driver class 1 in Crick

Not a good company to work
They don't care about their workers. They give a redundancy for all the Crick workers and at worst Covid-19 moment and they don't care, they give us a redundancy and bye.
HGV Class 1 Driver Nights in Preston, Lancashire
on 24 September 2020
Great place to work
Drivers are helpful on nights. The transport traffic on nights are a great team. The work is easy but not always shared out equally as the day planners rotate and don’t communicate who has had what work. Management will look after you if you have any problems or concerns. Provided with all covid cleaning products for the vehicles and employees. The only down sides to this company is the pay and the holiday pay. If you work on nights they will deduct your meal allowance and night allowance off you for holiday pay so when you have holidays your like on a day drivers pay. Other than that it’s a great company to work for and the pay is the only reason I left. If the pay was at least £12 an hour then I’d love to go back and the holiday pay was the same for your 50 hour week of £12.
