Backgrounds We Look For We seek smart, driven individuals who can contribute expertise gained from a variety of past experiences. Our staff of industry specialists includes PhDs, MBAs, and a number of professional designations including CFA charterholders. But you don’t necessarily need a business degree or a finance background for every role at Morningstar. We prize both creativity and analytical ability; a varied, interesting background gets our attention. You’ll find people at all levels of the company with degrees that range from Russian literature to history, English, and psychology.  A Variety of Roles Morningstar jobs require all types of talents. We regularly hire for positions including designers, researchers, salespeople, developers, and project managers. From our first days in business, we’ve been an early adopter of new technologies and believe in building great products in-house. Your Future Starts Here The Morningstar Development Program is a two-year opportunity that provides recent college graduates the ability to explore different career paths through full-time placement in one of our offices. During the two-year program, participants will receive ongoing career development, mentorship and training, and apprenticeship opportunities with various business groups, such as investment management, data, tech, and research. Your experience is yours to create.

We believe in building great products in-house in a highly collaborative, agile environment where we focus on technical excellence, the user experience, and continuous improvement. Our technologists represent a range of skills and experience levels, but they all view their work as a craft and push technology’s boundaries to find new and better ways to serve investors.
