Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedGood culture in manufacturing sites, great teams and easy going environment Pay rises non existent, no appreciation from managers for the effort and work being put in, no progression opportunities unless you are one of the liked ones. No bonus payment. Used to be stable business but things have now changed as it's not going well

Doing so much better mentally since leaving
contract worker (Former Employee) - Europarc, lakeside grimsby - 21 November 2023
No such thing as privacy and confidentiality, if you have something wrong and let a manager know then all the managers and 90% of the factory will know your business before you are even back or better. If you have a problem they'll roughly help you but if you have a health condition better off finding elsewhere.

Good place to work
Maintenance Engineer (Current Employee) - Bradford - 27 August 2023
It’s a good place, people are friendly and approachable. It’s a shame that higher up bosses made this decision to move the production and pick to Thrapston.
Pros
Friendly staff, canteen food at discounted price

Very physical and cold job
Morrisons (Current Employee) - Connah's Quay - 17 February 2023
Work can be very physical at times but can also be very easy on some days, however as an agency worker it can sometimes mean that work cannot be guaranteed on certain days
Pros
staff sale discounts on products
Cons
Physical and Cold job

Terrible place to work
Former Colleague (Former Employee) - Grimsby - 26 January 2023
Used to be a great place to work, over recent years it's become a dictatorship with no care for colleague welfare. Expect the same output with minimal staff, putting extra strain and pressure on remaining colleagues

Flaxby
Production Operative (Current Employee) - Knaresborough, North Yorkshire - 15 January 2023
Awful place to work. Ive been there just over a year and it has changed drastically. Powerful them and us attitude between workers and management, staff being paid higher rates for doing different job that they can't do, warehouse staff underpaid for the amount of physical work they do, understaffed and the staff they get are not fit to be in society. Poor equipment, poor ideas from management who don't have a clue how things are run and who are so quick to pass the buck when something goes wrong, the site run by someone who is blinded by reality. Overall, if you're desperate for a job, come here but I wouldn't recommend it.
Pros
Free parking
Cons
Long hours

Bad place to work
Fork Lift Truck Driver (Current Employee) - Knaresborough - 22 September 2022
Very bad place to work. Pressure because all machine’s and robots are all time broken. Managers running and shouting. Not enough people to work. There are dangerous now ones care about health and safety.

Repetitive
Manufacturing operative (Former Employee) - Thrapston - 1 August 2022
The atmosphere reeks of depression, nobody talks and you are doing the same task day in day out. Its way more repetitive than any other warehouse job and its horrible.

Challenging environment
Team Manager (Current Employee) - Bradford, West Yorkshire - 20 November 2021
All manufacturing sites are very busy. The Morrisons have family friendly policy in place so its quite easy to share the job with other half to look after children etc. Many benefits have been taken away.
Pros
Sick pay
Cons
Very high staff turnover, lack of investment.

Very productive, & fun work place.
Machine Operator (Former Employee) - Northwich, Cheshire - 10 January 2021
It's a hard working, fast paced & fun work place where people work together from different Nationalities. It's A huge massive size work place, where we're on move on feet wich keeps us so fit.😎 Management is taking care of the staff and do listen all the issues carefully. One of the best team I have ever worked with.
Pros
Free coffee in this pandemic & free breakfast sometimes to appreciate the staff.
Cons
Long hours on move on feet wich helps to keep you fit.

No training, no direction, no loyalty.
Nightshift Industrial Cleaner (Former Employee) - Turriff - 7 September 2020
Once you've picked up the job, on your own initiative as there's no training, the job itself is quite enjoyable. The supervisor is there for no reason i could make out and the management is poor to say the least.Don't expect to be treated fairly and you're definitely not appreciated.
Pros
Easy job
Cons
Management

Wouldn't do it again
Team Manager (Former Employee) - Grimsby, Lincolnshire - 4 July 2020
It was more of a self learning job.
No support fron senior management as they are not fully trained. They don't have anything to offer. I would never do the job as a team manager within Grimsby Morrisons manufacturing.

I was employed as a very senior level
Technical Manager (Former Employee) - UK - 19 June 2020
I was there a short period, due to being removed from my post for some random reasons.
My own manager was busy spreading untruths about me from my very first day, and it turns out one of them really wanted my job but was not experienced enough yet.
The whole disciplinary process was done and dusted within 6-7 working days, that is 3 'probationary review meeting'. I had barely got my email to work and they were asking me to leave.
For a very senior manager, this is ridiculous, next, no one could decide who had the authority to sack me so they just sacked me anyway.
I was probably one of the most senior ethnic employees at Morrisons, and I did wonder before joining why, but now I know.
They go on about the Morrisons culture and either you will love it and stay forever or you won't and you will be gone. What they missed out was telling new applicants, to "watch your back" and cover your butt.
I reached out to Central HR and employee relations and they told me to 'job on', later found out that they had discussed my private reach-out email with my manager.
Terrible place to work, but good pay and perks.
Pros
Salary Package
Cons
Morrison Culture which none explains

Good place
Manufacturing Operator (Current Employee) - Spalding, Lincolnshire - 19 May 2020
Fantastic managers, plenty of opportunities to progress (butcher, QC, line leader, manager) etc and I found all managers to be supportive of this. It is hard work but it’s a team effort.

productive place
butcher and machine operator (Former Employee) - cemetery road bradford - 22 February 2020

from day to day we had a deadline to meet

They dont care about their staff
Production Operative (Former Employee) - Healing - 1 February 2020
Payed me less than minimum wage for over 6 months and are now saying it was part of my back pay for 2019 payrise. Managers expect you to do their work then blame you when it goes wrong, not to mention the rude people at head office who couldn't even take the time of day to sent me the information I've been asking for for over 3 weeks...

Never again
Operations Manager (Former Employee) - Manufacturing - 9 January 2020
Worst company i have ever worked for. Safety culture was shameful - the leadership team gave safety lip service only. The key focus was solely profit at any cost.
Culturally Morrisons thrives on senior manager bullying junior staff.
