Mountain Warehouse has nearly 25 years experience developing the very best outdoor gear for all the family. Having started with a single shop in Swindon the company now has 380+ stores and employs more than 3,500 people. We sell more than 20 million items a year from jackets and fleeces to rucksacks and sleeping bags. We also sell items for running and cycling.

For many years, almost all our stock was exclusive to us, however we have recently started to stock brands such as Columbia and Sprayway online, and in some of our largest stores. We still design our own, top-quality products, and having them made to exacting standards, we ensure that customers get top-quality products at very competitive prices.

Despite the pandemic, we continue to expand both Retail and Ecommerce, and are rebalancing our store portfolio with larger stores; some newly acquired sites as well as relocations. In early 2021 we acquired Animal, and re-launched this iconic lifestyle brand with a focus on authentic, trend-led, and eco-friendly products. Sustainability is a key focus for us. 2022 has so far seen us open 3 Animal stores and a few shop-in-shops.

In July 2018, Inflexion Private Equity Partners LLP, through its specialist minority fund Inflexion Partnership Capital, invested £45m in the business in return for a minority stake. Inflexion’s backing of the business and its management will help Mountain Warehouse grow its share of the £14 billion European market for outdoor clothing and equipment and further develop its digital sales channels.

not too bad
decent place if the staff are good but office is awful, no consideration for sales teams and always had a problem with pay as well as furlough payments being denied

It's an ok job for minimum wage.
Less stress than most shops to work in, good if you get the right boss. Pretty much what you would expect from a budget outdoor retailer. Lots of emphasis on KPI's and pushing add-ons at the till. Only the manager and area mangers would benefit from bonuses for good performance, staff wouldn't get a penny.
