Safe, rewarding and good support from senior field and staff
A typical day at work would be carrying out tasks that clients require us to do. I wanted to do something around my family life and this role perfectly fitted. The training was a mix of e-learning and and classroom based for practical. I learnt most of it before going out. Care supervisor and experienced carers mentor you for 12 weeks. Everyone is friendly and always happy to help. I love my job now and the feeling that it brings from knowing that I get to make a difference to someone`s day.

Different shifts to choose, which is great.
I find my current role very rewarding but challenging at times...No 2 days are the same which i like. I meet people from all walks of life....Coming from a retail background i have learnt a great deal from this role...

I enjoyed all my working time with my colleagues
- You can begin early morning or early afternoon. I started early and continued till tea calls. You may be paired with other colleagues or you could be on a single. usually same clients at same time, so that helps understanding their routines. I also felt was very easy to monitor if their health was changing. You could be sipping cups of tea, having cakes/ biscuits with friendly clients in several different houses. They all really appreciate you, and you become a family. Just need to watch that out though and maintain necessary professionalism I would say.- Did many courses and trainings with them. More importantly there were practical demos by Supervisors which helped me a lot.- I felt well respected and supported. I was appreciated in a heartfelt manner on every occasion I went out of the way. I also received gifts a few times (other than Christmas when everyone did) and spot bonuses two times.- I must say it is fast paced and collaborative. You do get time to spend with the clients, and generally it is sufficient. But you have to be mindful of the clock so you reach the next one in time. I did not have any commitments that would interfere my routine, but you could be called upon to help if a colleague became unavailable at the last minute. I had a good bunch who always supported each other. This is going to be my fondest memory of working in the community. I haven't had so much satisfaction in any job I previously did.- Hard part is that you have to be punctual and committed. I always thought I am going to look after my mums and dads in the neighbourhood! It gave me all the drive to be out, and lit up my mood even when I had my own personal troubles.- Most enjoyable part were my colleagues. Each and every one of them brought a great perspective with their life stories and were an inspiration. I never felt it to be a work, and I was happy with what I was getting paid end of the month.

Don’t do it.
The worst experience of my life! They accept, promote and support bullying. If you have a complain or raise concern they will dismiss you without any form of communication. It’s a shame they don’t have an option on here where you can say 0 stars and I wouldn’t even give it one. Underpaid and treated like rubbish! No interview process at all and will take on any old person. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone!
