I’ve worked for the company for many years, I have always felt supported in terms of work and wanting to progress. I love my practice, we all work well as a team.I have been at other practices in the past, it does all come down to having a good manager, it really makes a difference

Generally a poor experience

What this company says it does and what practise managers actually do are two very different things. The practises are run unethically and will spend no money on advancing patient care or securing good nurses, the nurses last on average a few months.

Not Great

Having worked with my dentist for a significant amount of time, and being under appreciated, over worked, under paid and continually being poorly treated by higher management the decision was to move on.Work life balance is non-existent.

MyDentist pay so bad they give you 500 bonus which they take but if you leave within two years they take it away but when they take it away they take the full 500 when you don’t even get that I left within a week of it being under two years and they took it , they earn millions but under pay all there staff and make you work like a dog

Challenging role, but well supported

The work environment is busy and fast-paced, but that is my preferred way of working - I find my role varied and never boring. There is a strong team of people around me, in my immediate team and also in a wider sense. I feel that for me, I work within a supportive department and have an opportunity to share insights and ideas. I benefit from the opportunity for hybrid working, though sometimes that does make it hard to switch off outside of 'working hours'! There is a sense that the vast majority of people here want to drive the business forward, but do so in a way that cares for customers and colleagues. We are able to recognise where we are not perfect and strive to improve in those areas.

I have worked for the company for 10 years and I couldn't imagine working anywhere else, I have been fully supported from day one. I have developed my knowledge and been able to progress in my career all through the support of {my}dentist!

mydentist is a growing company with lots of exciting projects including practice upgrades, systems implementations and expansion across the UKmydentist is a busy place with challenging roles but with equal rewards in regards to fair pay and sense of accomplishment.

Thank you for recognising the flexibility we try to offer employees when able and also highlighting the exciting projects the company has emerging. We are always looking at ways to reward staff and increase benefits /discounts but in the interim there are lots of discounts and benefits available on the Hapi app which all employees have access to so please be sure to have a look.

Enjoyable role where your input and efforts are appreciated

First dental company where I have felt my experience and knowledge is appreciated and used. Enjoyable role. You do feel you make a difference. I have only been with the company 6 months and sadly need to leave as i need to care for my terminally ill mum. But hope to return and i have loved my time at the practice.

Exciting place to work!

I joined My Dentist in Langold, back in April 2022. I applied through Indeed (for another practice as a student Dental Nurse, in Sheffield). However the lovely lad who was recruiting told me she could find me something alot closer to home. (due to living in Nottinghamshire). So I was given a interview and a week or so later, I was offered the role of a Student Dental Nurse, learning/being in practice while studying towards the Dental Nurse qualification. Dental nursing was something I had always been interested in doing, however being from a little town there was much call around there for the desired job.Since the day I started I have thoroughly enjoyed every minuet. From fellow Dental nurses, to the PM and the Dentists. They were all so welcoming and there if I required/require any help.As much as it is a demanding job, just like any clinical setting I always look forward to going to work and enjoy each day. I think My Dentist is a brilliant company to work for and can't be grateful enough for the opportunity they have given me. Not just a job but a career.I can't wait to pass my Exam so I can move forward within the company, to gain as much qualifications/experience I can. The practice is a busy, fast paced environment but with the said it is also very friendly, hardworking and a fun place to work/grow.

Terrible manager do not work there

Manager is very bad and useless, cannot take ownership on any decisions, staff is great and patients are lovely but with a terrible practice manager you cannot work properly, do not recommend at all.

Nurses are treated awfully

I do not have one good thing to say about this company. Complete disregard for the lives of the people working for them. Staff are forced into work unwell or face disciplinary action. The management in place demonstrate no compassion under any circumstances. Not a good place to work if you have any responsibilities outside of work, Eg. Parents/Children to care for as you are expected to put the needs of the company above your own. The absence policy will see you fired within a year, if you have health problems. Not really an issue for the company as the attitude seems to be that nurses are disposable. I would definitely advise anyone who is neurodivergent to avoid this company as there is no space for you. If you can’t help yourself, you won’t be helped. The expectation placed on patient facing employees by management, employees that receive abuse day in and day out is not even close to reasonably compensated.

Poorly managed

I used to enjoy my role but not so much any more.Priorities, goal posts and processes constantly change each month which ends up with a lot of confusion as to what is needed and how it is to be produced. Resulting in stress and anxiety about being overworked. More and more work is being thrown at us even after mentioning the fact we're at full capacity. Management just want to appear on the ball to the higher ups, but this is at the detriment of their staff. Zero support is being given yet we get constantly micromanaged or made to feel like #### if something isn't understood or has been done quick enough. The benefits(pay) isn't rewarding enough for the reasons above.

Work shop

Worked here for 22plus years as was convenient to home. Very bad company management is the worst ever work load impossible no perks to the job for the long hours and awful pay.. They Do NOT value there staff. If you want a short term fix. And want nothing from the job then this is for you.

We do care about all of our colleagues so apologies that was not your experience on this occasion. We want everyone to feel valued, rewarded and recognised at {my}dentist which is why we have invested £9million in the salaries of our frontline staff in the last two years. We continually review our investment in our people to ensure that we’re able to pay attractive salaries as well as offering additional benefits.

Busy job but very rewarding

The job is very good. Dealing with patients and helping them through successful treatment plans is very satisfying and you feel appreciated by the patient and dentists. There is a lot of work behind the scenes which can be a lot to manage at times, but management support and support from other practices is great and makes the job easier

Appalling

Absolute shambles of a place to work. Treat staff like rubbish. Sadly a lot of the team have left or are seeking alternative jobs, due to bad management. You have a manager that knows absolutely nothing about dentistry. It's all about the money. No patient care whatsoever. Would not work here again ever, even if I was offered double what I was on. Don't be fooled by £10 an hour as it will be less than that if the minimum wage is less.

I am assuming your feedback re pay rate relates to an advertisement, which will usually say up to and quote a rate relevant for our career path pay bands. Then at the point of being offered a role a rate will be included in the offer. The rate that is agreed with a candidate is what is paid during their employment.

Don’t Bother

If your ideal job is to be undervalued, untrusted, micromanaged, controlled and played off against colleagues then this is the job for you! On top of all that, you get to be underpaid, get zero benefits (unless you call a discount voucher scheme a benefit) and have a horrible work-life balance too! If you have no clinical experience, or any knowledge of the CQC and the associated compliance processes, do not even entertain a Manager role within this company (you’ll be told it’s not needed but it absolutely is!) CQC Registration, it’s like the name plate above a pub front door. You’re solely responsible for the processes and procedures (even things like sedation and radiography!) with no experience or training (bar a few awful online videos to watch). No one tells you anything about that until it’s too late. The induction and mentorship promised, prior to ‘going live’ is non-existent. You just have to hit the ground running and figure it out for yourself. Irresponsible given the expectation and responsibility that comes with CQC Registration. These are just some of the several reasons this company churns managers at a ridiculous rate every year. Income and profit is the only driver for senior management. The only plus is the practice staff. The nurses work crazy hard but are also ridiculously undervalued and underpaid by the business. Many will leave as soon as they qualify.

So many. Underpaid, undervalued, no training, no guidance, no benefits, stressful, unsupported by senior management, played off against others, micromanaged… the list is endless.
