What advice would you give the CEO of MyDentist about how to improve it?

  • Stop ignoring the NHS targets during the pandemic and making them your own. There is too much foot traffic going in and out of practices making the spread of covid a high risk in the workplace. You’re working your dentists, nurses and receptionists to breaking point and honestly making everyone want to quit.

  • Employ nurses for hygienists and include them in the team. We are left on our own most of the time with no help.

  • Stop the bullying and demoralising emails daily to reception or asking PMs to pass on daily reports about our so called failures regarding targets. Even if we hit 2 targets out of 3 the fact that we didn’t hit one is all that’s mentioned. Makes you wonder what’s the point.

  • Most definitely need to pay receptionists more then the minimum wage. We work hard we don’t give minimum work and always go over and above so feel if we are doing more then then minimum then this should be appreciated with a better Salary. We are the face of the business and we make sure each patient starts and finishes there journey with a positive experience would be nice if we felt this was seen by management. I think minimum wage for this type of job is soul destroying

  • It’s not fair that you are not paying locum dentists who were seeing Nhs patients for long tome. My dentist is taking advantage of this critical period by asking locum dentists to sign associate position contact which is not upto BDA standard

  • Get rid of half the managers. Those that do manage should really have some clinical experience to understand any issues we as clinicians have. Also provide ALL clinicians with a dental nurse -which includes hygienists. Also a separate decon nurse. Improve the pay for all dental nurses as the company is short as a whole because of the low rates of pay. Until this is corrected. The standard of care and treatment at any MyDentist is compromised.

  • Sort out the terrible pay for practice staff

  • To review their own contract. Contra proferentem means they can NOT enforce their idea they can send anyone, anywhere with no notice or understanding of personal responsibilities. Any ambiguity in a contact benefits the person that is NOT the draftsman... so " you may be, on occasion required to cover other practices" is completely non enforceable.

  • Stop recruiting bullies

  • The pay is not competitive at all. As minimum wage rises the nurses pay is getting closer to minimum wage.
