Not good, not bad

Indeed featured review

For what the job is, it's good money. One of the better paid distribution centres. If you are the sort of person that wants to move up the employment ladder, I'd find another place. The job is mundane, made worse by staff who have given up on ever trying to succeed at anything. The communication network between, management, office, warehouse staff and all in between is chaotic at the best of times.

Pros

Good wage

Cons

Poor staffing levels, poor communication between departments, no personal growth opportunities

Easy straight forward

Easy straight forward trunks left alone to do the job one of the best jobs I’ve had. Nice equipment and quality maintenance of fleet. Same runs repeated daily but not normally same destination

Avoid,avoid,avoid

To many chifts under supervise senior supervise under manager they all think they are CEO ect, ect. There is so much dead wood in langdons. Most nights as a Driver u will kelp waiting for 1_3 hours for your paperwork to do a run to liverpool ,Barnsley u will hit all the road closers get back very late and don't forget U R ON SALARY.U will get a text around 2 hours before they want u in so u can not plan your day and they never pick up the phone. If u go to langdons they will put u on 5/3 shift .There a around 12 drivers at langdons who r on 4/4 there work is around 95 % the same as 5/3 but they work aday less aweek less than half the year.Plus 4/4 get most of the overtime. They have there favourite DRIVERS who get the easy runs ,u will not??Trucks r ok but they have built in cameras so langdons will be watching your every move.Hear is alist of issues I notice in langdons over the few years I work there and there are many more .Do yourself a favour AVOID there r alot better jobs out there

Pros

Not to many

Cons

How long have u got.

Poor communication, leadership and employees not valued

This company doesn't value it's employees. Has poor leadership which inturn creates a stressful working environment. There seems to be a feeling of double standards, do as I say, not as I do! With little to no support from senior manager down. I personally wouldn't work for them again and this is the only company I feel this way about and if you look at their turnover of staff I'm sure I'm not the only one!

Pros

On site parking

Cons

Poor working environment

Stressful,negative place to work

Bridgwater Depot multi drop . Most of the drivers are nice there are some bullies I had personal experience of this . Terrible work life balance you could start at 6,7 8 o’clock am and finish 6,7,8 pm changes all the time I was doing 60 hours a week get back late one day and they start you early the next . They definitely have there favourites all finish early. Daily work is not allocated fairly. Some delivery points are not suitable for an attic but they still send you causing you stress . A bit of love hate relationship with some of the planners constantly getting fu**ed over . They need to ask the drivers what the issues are and deal with them .

Pros

Vending machine, new trucks

Cons

Where do I start

Stressful if ye not in the click the easy runs the early finishes

Bad really bad they have no morals wen it comes to drivers along as the delivery's leave that gate that's it new drivers come an realise then leave , their are inexperienced kids doing the planning who have no clue how to plan a multi drop company some don't even have a car licence, ye will be crossing over other wagons in your area some even collecting were your delivering if the planners are replaced by some one who is experienced then maybe it could improve. They never answer the phones ye could be dying in a layby an no one would answer the phone.

Pros

None

Cons

Liar's

Don't waste your time!

Hard to fit in with management, poor planning and planners, favourite drivers that get the cream of early finishes, if you don't do as your told you will be pulled in and talked down to like a gutter rat they think drivers are, poor pay compared to others, sent to places you can't imagine with an arctic and expect it to fit, you will think your done and they drop more collects helping certain lazy drivers you even if you've done 15 drops 5+ collects they don't like you finishing early, expect longer days than your salary states and planners will plan 12+ hr shifts, heavy broken pallets so expect back issues over time! Start times allover the place unless you do north east 5am starts so don't expect to plan things or have a life, your just a number "if your not happy go attitude" surprised the company's still going to what I've seen, glad i left and saw the light now working for a company that respects its drivers and pays realistic wages

Pros

Good set of lads only a small %

Cons

Poor pay for what you do, run ragged, poor management unfit planners

Its changed

Drivers good warehouse staff good but what has really let this depot down over the past few years are the dinosaurs running it they still think flogging staff is the way to get more out of them well its 2021 not the dark ages, trucks are OK new but small cab scania, night shift isn't just trunking work its delivering frozen food on badly stacked pallets on trailers with ice on the floor or you could deliver dolavs that are over a tone in weight even though company policy is one tone max, supervisors are not really interested in your problems if you do have one its always take it up with management? Only time they take notice is if you need to put a defect in then its WHY. Start times from 5pm up to 10pm 5pm will be collections and a trunk, shunting when required down load truck when required wash you unit every night for day driver but if your a favourite driver you will get a call to come in early the rest will have to wait for a run.

Pros

New scania trucks small cabs basic models

Cons

Quit a few

It's a ok job bit boring as you go to same places

If u like early starts this is the place to be. Its not bad work and the pay is reasonable. Saying that though because of an out of date pat structure alot of works earn salary only while a few of the favourites get the extra monies

Pros

Reasonable pay

Cons

Not a fair hand out of work to money to hours

Unfair company

Could be a good job if you were treated fairly. Certain drivers ALWAYS get easy days whilst the rest do all the hard work! Salary means you get NO overtime and end up doing many hours of FREE work for them.

Pros

Uniform

Cons

Wages, work/life balance. Unfair policies

Requires drivers discipline

Drivers talk trash non stop and "reporting" -mostly moaning. It's hard to imagine workplace without one or 2. The company is food quality regulated, by retailers and working by the book. They wount sack you unless you f*** up. Literally. Days start 7am - finish (4-8pm)Trampers class 1 start 7pm -finish (1-4am)Nights (central London) start 21:30-24:00 finish - (4-7:30am)

Pros

Day shift hates night shift

Cons

Night shift hates day shift

Work here at your own risk

Only work for this company if you want to learn how a company shouldn’t work. Favourite drivers which will stand out like a saw thumb and won’t take long before you realise they get treated better because they’re married to office staff. False promises made by scared management who promise to sort problems out but are scared of raising it to there superiors. It’ll be nice at first to lure you in but once you’ve been there your runs will go through the roof and you’ll be getting to work when the night shift drivers leave and you’ll leave work when the night shift return. Planners can’t plan, managers can’t manage, overall, just don’t go there.

Pros

30k a year salary

Cons

Way to many to list, also it’s minimum wage when you work out your salary compared to hours you work

Good job

Good job , would say good money . Only bad point you have to work on bank holidays unless you book a holiday. I would work for them again. Work Sunday to Thursday plus overtime if will be lucky to get them

Pros

Not many hours for good money

Cons

Need to book holiday just after new holiday year starting. Small yard :(

A very good place to work.

It was a good place to work. The downfall was working every other Saturday. Only Christmas day off, as it was open 24/7. I really enjoyed working, but my workload became minimal.

Productive

Work came in as soon as the day started and it was a variety of telephone calls, visiting the transport area, liaising with suppliers and customers, interacting with colleagues and working to a deadline in which to plan the next days deliveries. The atmosphere in the office was fairly relaxed with the Head of business working alongside the rest of us. It was quite a male environment and light hearted discussions were common place.

Not a bad company, just bad management

Pays well, managers are thick as two planks of wood, night manager is an ex con, went to jail for getting up to no good at work and still kept his job, transport supervisor doesn’t even have a HGV driving license and has never been out on the road, and the depot manager started out as the security guard for the site. Management is corrupt, all about who you know.

Favoritism place

Too many cooks, do the job their way or you know where the door is (policy), planners can’t plan, management can’t manage, if your face don’t fit good luck, too much favouritism for the one who are looked after and they know who the are, Pros Salary is ok Cons All office staff think they are all bosses

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Too many....Come and see how you feel .

receiver office

a large pile of pods received from previous day, hard busy day. good management enjoy team to work with hardest part is getting workload done not enough hours to cover busy shifts

Fairly good envoirmment, enjoyable colleges and fast paste work.

Great experience, enjoyed working with the people inside the office however, more training would be great as training did not occur as much as I would of liked inside the office so the requirements I would of need to stay from the agency was not fully there as Langdons didn't give me much hope nor help to succuring a perminate role.
