Worst management
HR Recruiter (Former Employee) - Birmingham - 28 November 2023
You would think the recruitment team would be as multi cultural as the bus drivers but I felt singled out, spoken to every so often about anything I would do wrong with poor training, expected me to know everything. People would be acting like a playground instead of saying it direct about an issue they would liaise with the manager to get you out. Thats what they did to me.

Areas for improvement

Be good if it weren’t for poor negative management

What is the best part of working at the company? Engaging with travellers seeing joy & excitement on kids faces gong on holiday What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Extremely poor management who are rarely seen & treat drivers appallingly . Put saving costs ahead of road safety & only look for negativity in staff , never see or say anything positive What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Good bunch of drivers to work with but all negativity from management What is a typical day like for you at the company? Arrive, allocated a bus & car park, & then ferry passengers to & from airport terminal. Can be Manic during school holidays , other times can be very quiet

Ok job
Ex-Bus driver (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 3 November 2023
They want all their drivers of today to be AI, though it's coming in future! NX treat their drivers with contempt. Only work here if you're desperate for a job, as it's so stressful. Or of course if you want to get your D License, then run.
Pros
Free BP
Cons
Contempt

Meh
PCV Bus Driver (Former Employee) - Birmingham - 22 October 2023
Low pay for the stress and bad treatment from both management and passengers. So if you like being miserable everyday. Then this is the job for you. And if you take anytime off sick they’ll sack you.
Pros
Free travel
Cons
Long hours and being treated like s**t

Don't bother, the hourly rate doesn't sound bad but the politics really isn't worth it
Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Stansted Airport - 18 October 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Nothing really, probably the best part of this job is general public and at an airport that is saying something because they're generally really rude. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Again the general public but more so the back stabbing of your colleagues and the lack of any compassion or support from your management team. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Don't trust anyone, especially the management. What is a typical day like for you at the company? COLD/HOT,...you only get to work inside if you suck up to the "management " Your day is usually filled with abuse from stressed out travellers.

Driving
Bus Driver (Former Employee) - Walsall, West Midlands - 3 October 2023
If you want a way to get into professional driving this is a good way to start. Free training to get your pcv licence, the experience will help you if you decide to do your class 1 or 2. I did 2 years, hours aren't too good.

Not good at all
Bus Driver (Current Employee) - Birmingham - 3 October 2023
Dangerous people's all around you day by day. College's like a children's they're report you for everything. Company treating you for everything. They offering payraise but they cutting basic hours so it is what it is you can get less week by week if you not doing overtime. Picking you for drivecam footages even if its not your fault they said its yours because of this and that... poor maintenance on vehicles, no support for drivers, never answer for radio calls or phone calls etc.
Pros
Non
Cons
Bad weekly incomes, bad communication, dangerous

Great team but disorganised
Senior HR Business Partner (Former Employee) - Birmingham - 21 September 2023
The work life balance and flexibility was good most of the time and salary was good for what I did. The company however is disorganised and don’t know their right from their left half the time. You very rarely got feedback on your performance to allow you to progress and little development opportunities. You were constantly fire fighting with no clear direction in priorities. I was not a performance driven organisation despite it saying it was. Trust in management was depleted at the end and I was not treated well during a redundancy process.
Pros
People you work with, team Camaraderie, ability to work from home with flexibility
Cons
Disorganised, constant fire fighting, no development

Management are evil
Bus Driver (Former Employee) - Yardley Wood - 14 September 2023
As soon as you get to top, right management will not hesitate to nitpick in order to sack you and get someone new in on a smaller rate and if you get sacked and try to go to a different depot I will make sure you never work for the company again, even if you leave and I don’t want you to sometimes I get funny about it and take a box, so you are never allowed back at the company even at a different depot
Pros
Free bus pass
Cons
Management over strict over petty things and antisocial hours

Professionals Bus Driver (Former Employee) - Birmingham - 4 September 2023
Better of cleaning and collecting waste. No life balance. Only pay up to 7.36 hours for some crazy reason. No respect and security for drivers. Dangerous and mentally draining.

Don’t bother working for them
Service Desk Analyst (Current Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 29 August 2023
They don’t care about their IT staff. Your work will never be recognised and that’s the reason why everyone is leaving lately but instead of hiring new people or do internal promotions they are instead distributing the load work on to different teams
