A really great place to work
Level 4 Associate Project Manager (Current Employee) - Bristol - 2 October 2023
National Highways is a very people focused company where they value and respect their stakeholders. They offer me a lot of help and support in my current role, which I am more than grateful for. They also offer flexible working hours which I absolutely love. There is also a great opportunity for career development, if you love learning, this is definitely the job for you!

Disappointing
Project Manager (Current Employee) - South West - 2 October 2023
I really thought I was joining a progressive, collaborative and innovative Company. I am really disappointed to find that it is none of these things. The salary is fair and the hours and work from home arrangements suit me perfectly. The people I work with are nice and fairly friendly, there is no teamwork or collaboration going on. Current systems used in my area of work are old fashioned with lots of duplication. The Corporate side of the business is terrible, very one sided, I have tried to interact on a number of occasions and am just met with radio silence. I do not enjoy the Corporate Board's regular lecture type meetings which I am told I have to attend monthly.
Pros
Work life balance
Cons
Not a team, old fashioned, Corporate Lectures, duplication

Senior Environmental Advisor (Current Employee) - Guildford, Surrey - 2 October 2023
I have been supported very well from my team and line manager. My equipment and log in details were set up promptly, unlike other organisations where i have had to wait or presented with problems that were not properly supported. I am excited to go to work each day!

Reputable, productive and innovative company to work for.
Procurement Manager (Current Employee) - Bristol - 2 October 2023
reputable, productive and innovative company to work for. Day at work: Having contract review meetings with suppliers. Issuing invitation to tenders. Liaising with operations in order to create fit for purpose specifications and correct statement of needs. Learned: A new framework procedure from scratch. Most enjoyable part: Being allowed the freedom to be innovative and come up with new ideas for how we currently work and how to improve in the future.

Great staff, properly run company. You can go far should you wish. Management are brilliant, work is very admin heavy and adhoc as well. Also expect to be on a lot of teams calls.

Hearts in the right place
Traffic Officer (Current Employee) - North East - 9 August 2023
The management is pretty poor and will often throw anyone under the bus to save their own skin and micro managed. Front line staff, however, are solid
Pros
You're your own boss out on the road
Cons
Smothering amounts of micro management
