Traffic officer (Former Employee) - South West - 10 May 2022
No real opportunity for advancement. Shift pattern at the time wasn’t fantastic. People there were nice to work with. Pay should have been slightly more

Poor culture, issues are left unresolved.
Traffic Officer (Current Employee) - West Midlands - 22 March 2022
Poor senior leadership and HR being the worst of a company I’ve experienced. Loosing peoples personal details, not paying correctly. Inability to resolve issues due to not wanting to make decisions. This breeds a poor attitude culture of people who can get away with what they like. Lowest paid high speed / motorway workers. Understaffed. High pressure.

interesting place
Control Room Operator (Former Employee) - Godstone, Surrey - 2 December 2021
8 hour day with an hour Break, thats if they arnt short of staff so no break! training was poor, Mangement was poor mentoring was poor short of staff no break you work 6 days on which is challenging because your last working day sometimes went in to your day off, so when the company says 6 on 3 off, thats not really the truth. So if your 6th day and you do a night shift and you finish at 6am on your day off!! i would give it a no star for the review if there was a option
Pros
free coffee
Cons
6 days on

Catching up
Programme Head of Health & Safety (Former Employee) - Warwickshire - 26 October 2021
This could be the greatest work place in the world. But can be slow and draining, with a bully bit mentality! There is good progress in some areas, but HR is in trouble with its diversity issues within the business.
Pros
Travel arrangements
Cons
Long hours and inexperienced project team

Bullying culture
Control Room Traffic Officer (Former Employee) - Godstone, Surrey - 19 July 2021
Shifts are around the clock as with most emergency services. You really do have to beg and grovel to get any annual leave whatsoever. There is a terrible bullying culture in place from the line managers upwards. There is always a critical staff shortage and it’s time somebody looked into the rapid staff turnover and the reasons for it. Couldn’t wait to leave there and it was the worst job I’ve ever had.
Pros
Parking
Cons
Everything else

If your face fits you can get away with anything
Structures technician (Former Employee) - Hucknall, Nottinghamshire - 6 August 2020
I was press ganged into this organisation then bullied out by a vindictive line manager and his cohorts.
This, however was not before I witnessed staff having driven to Nottingham from Birmingham do a few minutes of work then leave presumably to go home early, with the cabal doing likewise.
Pros
Great if your face fits
Cons
You will be mistreated if you do not fit in

Network Planner - Abnormal Loads Assessor (Former Employee) - England - 25 March 2020
Highways England is a good place to work and fun with awesome team qualities in a vibrant office environment.
Management are approachable and great to work with.
However there is to much red tape in HE, and you only get to keep your job if you know someone who can pull strings otherwise your not so lucky,
