Not much training when you start your role and you just have to learn everything yourself as you go. Very much a blame culture, no one looks for solutions when things go wrong they just look to point their fingers at someone!
Good company benefits
A good challenging and fast paced place to work with different tasks to do each day and a large squad working together on large projects which was rewarding to see completed at the end.
Having a great time working here and it’s a interesting place to work, working environment is good. With a high turn over of contractors, issues do arise. Most work mates and the supervisors are knowledgeable. It’s another string to my bow.. only downside it’s only ever temporary, loving my time there!!!
Not a great place to work no time to plan your day or any training for the job, also very long hours as to meet monthly targets was near impossible, on the flip side working at that level was a good learning experience.
Meet and greet visitors Answering calls and directing them accordingly. Issuing visitors with induction forms and PPE if necessary. General typing/admin work as and when required. Keeping ISO register up to date for all the vendors Meeting new people.
Throughout my apprenticeship it has been a good place to work although with the downturn in oil happening it means there is now no job security. The working day is 12 hours although theres is a lot of time off so it creates a good job work/life balance. The training isn't always great what can make the job slightly harder at times although i enjoy the challenge. Overall it has been a good place to work but with the oil and gas downturn it looks like ill need to move elsewhere.
