It's a typical big corporation, so there are a lot of additional corporate requirements and numerous deadlines every month to what you would normally expect when you work in Finance for a smaller company. Having said that, it is a very collaborative and fun place to be at. People are company's greatest asset. The management is making every effort to make you feel like you are part of the business.
exciting industry, big company with numerous benefits
long hours, fast pace
There is no typical; day at work, the routine changes frequently and the goalpasts move daily. It's a challenge and one you need to be prepared for, but it's a place where you can learn so much and learn so quickly and means you can adapt and be ready for all situations in roles later down the line. Adapt and learn daily is a good motto to have. The teams work well together and are collaborative and supportive of process and bandy together where they need to. The workload can be overwhelming, and work can be very reactive, so think on your feet!
Cool brand but do not care about the people. Ruthless with people and very cold and everyone works in a Silo. Management in the US do not care about whats happening in teams in the UK. so proper budget or support is given. My department had no clear direction or processes in place. Good brand to have on your CV though.
free drinks and flexible working depending on your manager
The people are too easily expendable to this company
Great company to work for if you are looking for 1 to 3 years... there is a great environment in the London office. Not too sure about progression, as the main bulk of the work is in the US, so would have to move if you want to climb the ladder (also, they seem to employ from the US for senior roles).
Free coffee, fruit and the occasional premier
working hours are extremely long, with no respect of work balance outside the core hours. there is almost a requirement of being online until late evening hours, with no acknowledgement of it. the atmosphere is very dry and for being a media company it feels way too corporate
I love working for NBCUniversal and I think their internship problem is fantastic. It really does not feel like an internship but instead I am treated like an assistant and a member of the team. You are very much involved with campaigns from the beginning and given much responsibility. My only 2 downfalls are the minimal pay which is very hard to live on and the fact that they take on so many interns and train them up but then there are no entry level jobs for them to move on from. This to me is crazy that they would train people from the ground up and then send them off to other companies. They should take on less interns and create more entry level jobs.
wages, lack of progression
