Answered 18 January 2021Zero hour contract - While i was working for Nestle (Nov-March) i did 2 weeks of full 60 hours which is the ultimate maximum you can work in a week for PMP. They will refuse to offer you shifts once you reach this weekly limit. I worked night shift at Nestle, so my shift started at 9pm and ended at 6am. You may be offered chances of overtime which usally meant either starting at 7pm or finishing at 9am or both... may sound not too bad, however... bear in mind you are on your feet throughout except at break times. The pay for my normal 9pm-6am shift was ÂŁ7.86 per hour which was above NMW but low in terms of night-shift work. If you do overtime then your wage will change to reflect the change in shift rate... for example... night-shift starts at 9pm and ends at 6am, if you do your shift then do 3 hours overtime to finish at 9am, your hourly rate will drop to the day shift rate at 6am so you will be paid 3 hours day shift rate not the full shift at night shift rate which doesnt sound like much incentive to do overtime unless you usually work days
