Demoralising and depressing

What is the best part of working at the company?Absolutely terrible company, they should not be allowed to operateWhat is the most stressful part about working at the company? The management and organisation and the way they just rip people offWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company?Awful absolutely no thought for driversWhat is a typical day like for you at the company?Arrive at 3 then papers don't turn up until 6, just sat there waiting and not getting paid

Unfair place to work

Forced to work 7 days a week with no chance of getting a day off unless you find your own cover for the round, if you don’t find your own cover then you get charged double the flat rate of £40 and lose the pay for the day also (if your round is £60 you’d lose that plus be charged £80 on top)50p per drop regardless of how far they are.If you are short on papers they expect you to purchase out of your own money and jump through hoops to claim it back.

Pros

Working alone

Cons

Unfair pay system, no days off and no employee rights

Very poor

Very bad for driver, low money, very low intact and too many drops. Cannot maintain their expected targets as they are unrealistic. They expect you to work nearly 14 hours every single day for 7 days a week in order to hit the target. Own vehicle will clock up miles and they pay you very low for amount of miles covered. Not worth the hassle simple

Avoid at al cost

If u don't like charity work do not work for them. Self employed contract with 28 days notice or fine. Lots of miles for low money. Big area to cover with such a short time

Awful

They are so unorganised avoid at all costs. Furthermore they charge you a fee for everything that has happened meaning they won’t pay you your full amount. Also they don’t pay for petrol or wear and tear so you are making no money essentially

Terrible company - THEY DO NOT PAY YOU

Terrible!! Do not pay you what they owe. Fine you for anything and everything so not to pay you. Tell you you HAVE to work more hours but do not pay your fuel and time. End up paying you 2 months in lieu so you are so buggered - you are in debt constantly. Then pay you nothing when you leave. DONT DO IT.

Pros

none

Cons

the management scamming liars

Not the described hours.

You can’t do the job in 3-4 hours like it says on the call at the start. I entered my route in onto maps and without sorting the papers and getting around alone it’s not enough for 3-4 so if you have another job not recommendable

Easy job

Easy work but there is no days off whatsoever and the pay works out less than minimum wage after you pay for your fuel insurance and wear and tear on vehicle

Lack of communication direction and training so far

No assistance training round local but gets so spread out need a guide for the whole round for a day cos 120 drops they expext im at 40 on day 4 and its taken 4 hours bad app uses google sends you wrong place meaning you have to manually insert route on app of your choice will be good but learning by going alone is a very tough one dont sign life away

Challenging but so rewarding.

Going from driver to management gave me a clear view of the company as a whole. I've loved my time with them! I get to travel and have seen the majority of the UK, I get lots of support from my line manager both personally and professionally. You get a sense of accomplishment which you may not get in other roles. NewsTeam always push for you to be the best version of yourself, They certainly did for me and found a sense of purpose and a home with them, no reason others can't too, they have a keen eye for talent that they never let go to waste!

Pros

Travel, pay and overall satisfaction

Cons

Long hours (if you don't manage your time properly)

Had great opportunities and study support

I have greatly enjoyed working for Newsteam for over 5 years. I have progressed within my role and been given study support within my role. The company is constantly growing so there are always opportunities to learn and grow in the job.

Pros

Career progression

Cons

can be stressful

Terrible working environment

From starting as a self employed driver, which was okay but early starts 7 days a week soon wears you down, to being offered an employed role as deputy supervisor, myself and my fellow supervisor have had very little support from our area manager and no end of problems getting paid the right money owed to us, in fact its still ongoing.

Cons

Avoid it. Don't get fooled.

The job ads stated it only took you 3-3.5hr in the morning. And you would start with a very short and easy round on the first morning to make you believe that the workload is manageable. But the fact is that you've got over 100-130 drops across the whole area and most of them are each 2-3 minutes drive apart. You may do the maths and understand how long it takes to finish the whole round. Then you'd know this job only pays you around £10 or sometimes less than £9.5 per hour, not to mention the fuel cost. Just not worth it. And if you have class in the morning or a 9-5 job (even 10-6), and looking for some extra money, this is a NO-NO. Very likely to end up costing your day job/study. And you have to either bear it with the long notice period, or pay a large amount of charge for leaving. So think before you join.

The worst job you can do

Would not recommend it to anyone. I got told job was only 2-2.5hrs, was doing Binley area, After a few days I got Dunsmore and Binley Woods. After a week I got told something wrong with the system I got Rugby which is about 6-7m from Dunsmore...not worth it if you have a 8 - 5 job

Pros

None

Cons

Cunning about the delivery area
