The job is easy.Simple to deliver papers. A day rate, 4 hrs work, happy days. But pay is never right. The company take off double money if you have a day off, even though you are expected to work 364 days a year starting at 3.30am.No problem with my hours, the job itself as you are left alone, or the people I work with as they are sound. But, expect to get shafted!
Pros
Short days
Cons
Company disregard for drivers

My team enjoy banter as the van is unloaded. I’m often offered overtime as I work hard and get my own round completed well before 8, as a key worker I can take my kids to school when there’s spaces. My managers are approachable and considerate. Days off can be arranged in advance or emergencies. I’d say give it a go, early mornings not for everyone but suits me
Pros
Free day after 8
Cons
Early start

Really enjoyed this job but unfortunately I had to quit after a few weeks due to health problems. You get allocated your own route which is the same each day, so after a few days you know it inside out and can fly round. I would complete my route in under 4hrs most days and about 2.5 hours on a Sunday as there’s less papers to deliver. Start time varied a bit but was usually about 4am. Most days I was back home having a cuppa by 9am with the whole day in front of me. Management were sound and treated me fairly and with respect. I had a day of quality training out on the route and everything about the job was explained clearly. It’s a self-employed contract so you pay for your own fuel etc but even taking that into account the money’s not bad considering it’s only 4hrs a day. Would choose this over parcel multi-drop any day!
Pros
Your own route, early start & early finish

Where do I start! Shocking company! If I could give zero stars I would Im a staff member as a delivery driver "self employed" at the Bristol Depo and they treat the staff like rubbish. Adding extra rounds on which isn't in my postcode, im meant to be doing BS41/48 but instead im doing BS1,BS3,BS41/48 which is a joke in itself. You speak to managers about it and they give the dont care attitude by making you feel small and that you can't stand up for yourself! Asked for a transfer and yet still waiting... keep putting it off oh it will be this week oh but now its next week. What a joke. Gonna ring myself probably get a quicker responseManagers dont have a clue what they are doing, No wonder people don't stay long 😂 Won't let you have time off instead you will be threatened to come in or other wise you won't be paid for the month. Only thing good is the money haha 😂😂But good luck if you join your gonna need it

I suggest be careful when working for them as they might not pay you if you decide the jobs not for you, the hours are deceiving in reality your work load is way more then you think and you never finish the time they quote in there job ad. The management are polite to start with but extremely harsh towards you for know good reason which surprised me. It’s seems like money is there number 1 goal not staff. Please avoid at all cost, I left early but had I kept going I would have had high car repairs to deal with, it’s not worth it. Trust me, no matter how desperate you are for money it’s definitely not worth doing.
Pros
Absolutely none
Cons
Being treated like a second class citizen, horrible hours, overload work

They say it's 4 hours to complete the job but after working there a month you will see it is not 4 hours but 6+hours. You have to drive very fast breaking the speed limit in order to get your round completed early so your not there all day working as they give you so many drops of 70+ to do in a day. You spend about £20-£30 on petrol every day and they wont pay you any more than £60 a day. You have to pay for all your car expenses including insurance, repairs/maintenance. The Director is very good at listening and is supportive. The good thing about working for the company is you learn so much about driving and improve your skills. They treat you as though your working on PAYE but the job doesn't pay you even minimum wages & they offer no extra monies for your expenses as a driver although your expenses are much. You cannot take a holiday off you have to work every single day of the year except Christmas as I was told. It is a good job to do temporarily for 4, 5 months but not permanently.
Pros
Improve Driving Skills
Cons
Too long working hours and very low pay

I have been with this company now since January. It was always going to be short term for me due to cover, however reading the contract everything in on the driver, pay ,tax insurance fuel cover driver. For the money never worth the job. Then there bad management and bullying of management. I been sacked more times in a few months because I stick up for drivers, this time costing me nearly 2k which managemant thinks he is keeping from me.The management of wales and southwest is just a bully and obviously been getting away with it.This job was supposed to be easy money to tie me over a bad period. Its so far costing me money. The only good think I liked about the job was the hours. Early morning start but kinda fin early too.As a company you are expected to fin your round by 0830 yet we in west Wales gets our papers late most days yet still expected to fin on time . The company must go through so many drivers due the ill managemant and no other reason. Surely the directors should look into this by now?

Early mornings
Cons
bad management

I worked here for a week and then left. This company is an awful company to work for. They call themselves NewsTeam? I call them NewsNoTeam! The people who are meant to sort out the newspapers are hopeless. They can't even count properly so I was ending up having to do their dirty work by going to the shop and purchasing the correct/missing newspaper myself. The money coming out of my pocket. The extra time which wasn't at all needed. The management are awful. Like very very poor and they don't care about anything. They expect you to know what is what without explaining on how to do things properly. Oh and don't even get thinking of going on any holidays because they won't allow you to book time off. If you want time off you will have to get someone else to cover your shift. The pay is whack for the hours you put in. I put £40 worth of petrol in my car and used it all up within 4 days. Keep fully away and don't make the mistake that I did!
Pros
Driving around
Cons
Poor management, poor pay, poor communications, Poor everything

Very vile company worked for them little over 3 months and I tried my best not to let them down.I didn’t come in for one day and they fined me over £100 they don’t let you have time of and are so rude they used to ring my phone or I said I couldn’t do overtime and basically try pressure me into doing it . I had family issues and didn’t turn up, letting them know well ahead of time what had happened and they didn’t care. Loosing all the money I had been earning just over £400. But by that point I’d had a enough DO NOT WORK HERE THEY WONT LET YOU READ THE CONTRACT BEFORE AND WILL DO EVERYTHING NOT TO PAY YOU
Pros
Nothing

Rude and antagonist management My vehicle broke down after two days. Cost me a small fortune to recover. Chased for a week for payment of my two days, after a week of chasing eventually received a call from ‘someone’ who claimed I’d breached my contract and was ‘rude’ to call centre staff?? I wasn’t rude, was simply chasing payment. Awful cowboy company. Avoid at all cost

Started working here to make some extra money during the Covid lockdown. The management are poor, disrespectful and have a complete disregard for the law and employees. I have messages of management telling me to drive quicker to meet their unrealistic deadlines. None of the staff have the correct insurance for the job. They put you on a self-employed contract so they can scam you, managements implied this was true on the phone. They expect 28 days notice and if you don’t work it they don’t pay at all, even if you’ve already worked for the money. Management became aggressive when called out. DO NOT WORK HERE.
