Complaints from customers
Management and back stabbing
The managers attitudes
Seeing young kids run ragged by management no respect
Pressured to work towards tight and unrealistic deadlines/targets.
Interacting and putting up with the staff and managers who are very two faced and nasty people.
One of the mottos at next is ‘everything has to be returned to keep up with great customer service’. This is very frustrating when a customer can just pick something up from the shop floor and bring it to the till for a refund. You can call the manager to state you don’t think this item has ever been purchased but it makes no difference. The returns policy at next is a joke
Everything.... there is no management support, family and friends of managers get special treatment over you. The pay is abysmal. There is no support for you if you're off sick. No understanding of a life outside of work. The whole job is just ridiculous, I was so unwell during my time at Next purely down to working at the store I worked at. Physically and mentally unwell for almost a whole year, because of the toxic work environment.
Trying to hit and maintain the 90% performance to secure a permanent contract
The summer and Christmas sale hours
The most stressful aspect of working for Next is you are obliged to get through so many calls per shift to meet targets as well as going above and beyond for your customers but when you are on a time this can be hard to find a balance. It is extremely hard to get holiday due to the levels of staff. You cannot take any breaks unless on your breaks. Over all a very focused stressful job from the moment you sit down till the end of your shift.
