hard place to work due to management

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
the new manager from the past year made it very difficult to enjoy the job .it used to be a gd place to work and co workers were happy. hardest part was keeping it all spotless when you had nures and drs stepping on your mops.best part was chatting to patients while cleaning their bed space and making them smile on bad days.

good sick bennifits

Underpaid and under recognised job

As a porter you do more important and risk things but the culture around NHS is like just nurses and doctors exist. Most of the time your work is not recognised and your work with short staff and the payment is just balanced by the unsociable hours and weekends and nights. But the amount of tasks that you do daily ar far more vast than people would expect

Stability, helping others

Incredible wrong balance on rota/life, no progression, working in an environment that has no cultural progression and room for improvement.

Excellent team enviroment and people

Work covers early shifts (0700-1330) and evening shifts (1530-2200). It is a great workplace culture that supports its staff and pay is in line with NHS pay scales. The work involves lots of driving (but you get payed mileage). Best parts of the job is helping other and making an difference and The most enjoyable part pf the job is the great team environment and your colleagues

Overworked, undervalued

Job would be so much better if not for extremely bad management, who constant put on you to do more. The problem is too many managers and supervisors all constantly wearing you down. The high staff turnover is evident of this, and yet they are quite picky about who they employ. On the plus side the pay is ok and holidays good.

Annual leave

Exhausting physically and mentally

My job was brilliant, difficult at times but extremely rewarding no two days were the same, It was busy all the time. It was all about putting the patients first.
