Opportunities for experience, but leadership quality patchy
Project Manager (Former Employee) - Leeds, West Yorkshire - 4 March 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedIf you don’t like your role here, give it 18 months as there’s a good chance your team will be reshuffled and/or reorganised. The flip side of all this deckchair-rearranging, or the expectation that you’ll want to move on every 2 years, is that team cultures can vary widely. This can result in senior managers occasionally being very remote; in the worst cases it’s possible for them to get away with unprofessional / borderline-bullying behaviour.

Calm, supportive environment
Financial Analyst (Former Employee) - Leeds, ENG - 10 November 2014
A typical day at work would start with me producing the ledgers of all the different groups within the NHS. I would then identify any groups with large discrepancies on their ledgers, and liaise with their accountancy staff. I learnt a great deal in this role. I think I gained a solid grounding in finance and got a lot of experience liaising with senior figures in the NHS from all around the country. The management structure was a little bit complex as I worked for more than one team and there was no clear distinction between what each team's role was. My co-workers were all very supportive and despite many of them being pushed for time on a constant basis they found time to help me with any queries. The hardest part of my job was learning about how NHS expenditure is coded and I found this to be a very steep learning curve. The most enjoyable part of my job was working with people around the country and building up a good working relationship with them in order to rectify any mistakes they may have made.
Pros
Good location
Cons
No parking
