Not a bad place to work
Booking Clerk (Former Employee) - Southampton, Hampshire - 18 December 2021
Not an awful place to work. It totally depends on the trust you work for. I worked for a decent trust and things were okay. Pay could be better and management can sometimes be a bit inefficient at the highest level. Otherwise okay.
Pros
Discounts with the blue badge
Cons
Not great pay

Never again!
HCA (Former Employee) - Southampton, Hampshire - 1 April 2021
Do not recommend this place at all, if you using your brain you not suitable for this culture, if you are full of compassion and don't allow any neusanse towards patients you will be bully by management. I feel like they work against patients and the families. Absolutely hate working for this company.
Pros
Don't see any
Cons
Bulling and neglecting culture.

Great people, poor progression
Senior Payroll Clerk (Former Employee) - Southampton, Hampshire - 6 February 2021
The people I worked with were mostly great. There's a great work culture most of the time and had some great social events. However, the salary is way below average and there's not much room for progression. A word of warning, you will be expected to work long hours, and handle more employees than one person should.
Pros
Free tea, coffee, squash. Great people
Cons
Overworked and underpaid

Fun workplace, Staff catered for
HR Administrator/Assistant (Former Employee) - Southampton, Hampshire - 25 September 2020
Good company to work for if you can do the job. Not much training at all, more of a fail and learn approach. Free hot drinks on site, and staff often given free food and fun days. Pay is good for the job role, can get super stressful closer to deadlines and the management are rather cliquey when it comes to certain staff.
Pros
Free drinks, nice office
Cons
Stressful at times, no training - but responsibility anyway

Fast paced and under paid
Dental Nurse (Former Employee) - Southampton, Hampshire - 22 May 2020
Working for multiple NHS Dental practices they are fasted paced and over worked. The teams are good, depends on manager. Pay isn't great as dental nurses are under rated anyway.
Pros

Cons
long days

Not the best, but not the worst
Payroll Clerk (Former Employee) - Southampton, Hampshire - 22 May 2020
The best thing about this place is the people! I’ve made friends for life in this place and had so many amazing experience with them. The work place has some fun things like dress up days, nights out ( depending on your team) and work Dos for the whole office, you get to dress down on Fridays and there is free refreshments the work life balance is non existent and you’re expected to go above and beyond 247! The pay is dreadful compared to other companies and the overtime is a joke as you don’t even get time and a half unless you work a weekend the management on my teM where great, however I know some people found their management hard to get a long with as they do not assist or support you but I never had that so was lucky for a payroll company it’s rubbish that your own pay gets mucked up so many times I worked there for just over a year and my pay was incorrect several times I’ve now left and still haven’t been paid all of what I’m due great for a full in job but don’t work here if you’re looking for to progress or remain forever!!
Pros
People, events, free refreshments and raffles
Cons
Rubbish pay and work life balance.

Review
Call handler (Former Employee) - Southampton, Hampshire - 19 May 2020
It was superficially friendly but in reality there was a dominant “in”group and I would seriously question their attitudes towards health and safety as well
Pros
You got paid on time
Cons
Very high staff turnover, strong clique controlling who moves up and is respected

Jobs at NHS
in SouthamptonUnprofessional organisation
Facilities Coordinator (Former Employee) - Southampton, Hampshire - 22 April 2020
If you are looking to work for a lumbering Dinosaur then NHS Property Services is for you. I have never worked for a more unprofessional team of people who are only there to slowly kill the will of anyone who wants to add value to a well established bureaucratic out of step government department

Ok to work for if you want no progression
PA with the NHS (Former Employee) - Southampton - 29 November 2019
If you’d like a job where you come to work, do your job, tow the line, don’t question management and want no career progression unless you are the chosen one, then the nhs is the right organisation for you.

not supportive
Temporary Administrator (Secretary) - Agency (Former Employee) - Southampton - 4 October 2019
Colleagues not particularly supportive of new staff members who are still learning the ropes. access not arranged until you start which means that time is wasted for at least a week before you can actually begin working.

Productive Work Place
Admin Assistant (Former Employee) - Southampton - 3 March 2019
Everyday would follow a pattern, which made things easier to comprehend and adjust to.
For example I would be in charge of correct payslips being sent out to certain members of the NHS and then another day I would be in charge of the payroll systems
Pros
Friendly work place
Cons
Long Hours

Employers will exploit you
Offline Senior (Current Employee) - Southampton, Hampshire - 25 January 2019
This place has a huge staff turnover and there's no surprise as to why this is, place is poorly run from top to bottom in all departments and senior managers will continually under staff the organisation so they can receive heir bonus at the end of the year. I worked in a promoted position for 8 months in promise that the pay would be backdated, was then informed the payroll are unable to back date pay. Also if you ever go off with a mental health related issue, dont except the organisation to be understanding, they will more likely use this information against you.

Patient Services Centre at General Hospital Southampton
Patient Services Centre (Former Employee) - General Hospital Southampton - 28 December 2018
Don't work at Patient Services Centre at General Hospital Southampton worst place to work. BE AWARE ITS A CALL CENTER answering calls whilst mangers just sat doing nothing and avoid answering calls. CALL CENTER is not advertised or mentioned when interviewed by management. Poor, horrible, unappreciated, rude, disrespectful, unfriendly management's.
All Managers have their favourites and have unorganized tasks. Racist comments. No training provided and staff are pushed to leave. Be prepared to be treated as a number and not a person. Management's don't care patients not getting their treatment on time or being delayed for booking appointments just want to get their salary. Be careful if you have ever been referred by GP and your referrals or notes not scanned and found in bins. Staff and management are not complying with policies and procedures management don't care. No culture.
No one should feel like a worthless pig at work. If you know what your worth do not come here unless you are a pig.
HR and Recruitment are aware of high turnover and staff leaving instead encourage Managers to carry on with awful character and behavior. Terrible Morale, No code of ethics, appalling, disrespectful, senior managers continuous bullying and harassment. Surprisingly management claims overtime for being lazy and treating staff as their slaves.
Pros
Poor, horrible, unappreciated, rude, disrespectful, unfriendly management's.
Cons
CALL CENTER is not advertised or mentioned when interviewed by management. Terrible Morale, No code of ethics, appalling, disrespectful, senior managers continuous bullying and harassment.

Theatre Technician (Former Employee) - Southampton, Hampshire - 20 April 2018
The NHS is great.
Its sociable, you get to work with a wide variety of people from all different back grounds and you have a real sense of feeling from helping others by providing quality of care.
Pros
Good working environment, sense of pride in your work.
Cons
long hours. Salary could be better. Sometimes ditressing.

Short sighted management with zero accountability
Business Services Controller / Payroll Manager (Former Employee) - Southampton, Hampshire - 30 March 2018
Senior managers and directors effectively responsible for driving the business into the ground on a regular basis. Same old excuses get put out and they lose customers and staff left right and centre and no one ever has to justify because its been on the skids for so long this is the norm now.
Tried to roll out so many initiatives where the business plan was absolute nonsense and it takes them until its a flaming wreck to kick the plug out of the wall. The whole service relies on expertise and quality. Not robots shuffling the deck and data. The NHS is its people and if they want to support that investing properly in the human element matters.
Most senior management is there through a last man standing, dynasty, chronyism approach and objectively no one ever seems to ask why the same clowns keep leading them to the same poor business outcomes.
Pros
It ends
Cons
Long hours, clicky management, no true development, everyone is a number thats easily replacable

Worst place to work
Recruitment officer (Former Employee) - Southampton, Hampshire - 16 March 2018
What a terrible place to work. Such a clickly management team. If they don’t like you then you’ll know about. Incredibly over worked & very much underpaid. No point complaining as that will get ignored. Staff turnover is so high there. Avoid at all costs.
Pros
None
Cons
Long hours, terrible salary, bad management, £8.50 a day to park

Busy unit
Midwife (Former Employee) - Southampton - 15 March 2018
Very busy unit that would suit a midwife who wants a face paced environment. The unit is rather old so it needs updating, but saying this they are at the forefront of research so progression into other areas is possible.
Pros
pensions
Cons
travel
