Develop and maintain a comprehensive and transparent control system for the PCT infrastructure budgets Assist the Corporate Finance Lead in the production of monthly reporting information for the board Ensure that a full audit trail is available from one financial year to the next and that accurate and detailed financial records are maintained Ensure that at all times budgets, income and expenditure are properly reflected in the General Ledger system and that these reconcile with agreed budgets Took an active role in the month end process, preparing accruals information and entering journals in the general ledger, so that the reported financial position reflects the actual performance Adhere to internal reporting timetables and ensure that reports are completed for on a timely basis Assist in the provision of information as and when required ensuring its accuracy and completeness Provide financial advice and support to budget holders and managers, responding to financial queries, meeting with them on a regular basis to support them in making decisions Participate in the training of new employees and budget holders Work with the Financial Accounting section with the year end process and preparation of the final accounts Assist and sometimes lead on the maintenance and development of financial systems (via complex spreadsheets or the General Ledger) including WTEs, activity and financial information Manage staff in accordance with HR policies and procedures, responsible for appraisals, absence, disciplinary matters, recruitment and workload allocation -
