Great place to work, manager was excellent. Work was interesting. Good hours. Some staff were a little clicky but you get that everywhere. I enjoyed my time here

Rewarding but can be stressful

Rewarding job caring for patients but don’t feel appreciated for what we do and don’t get paid enough for what we have to do. Not enough support either but very rewarding.

Rewarding and meaningful

This was a very positive experience. Management is always ready to support the staff and there was good team morale for the most part. Sometimes it can be challenging but it was always rewarding.

It depends on individual. it is a good place to work

What is the best part of working at the company? In the ward mental health hospital What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Reporting staff for minor issue and the management takes action without consideration of the circumstances on the the part of the staff if they don't like you they don't like you no matter your explanation You will be fired What is the work environment and culture like at the company? It is a very good place to work with hard working staff while few of the staff are not suppose to work with in a friendly environment because they brought their frustration to work and if you fall into their trap they will have no sympathy but have to report you They always put on sad face. No matter how friendly you are to them don't fall into their trap What is a typical day like for you at the company?Very lovely environment and the staff know what they are doing except few annoying staff

Great time as bank staff

Great time as bank staff working during covid, relatively relaxed work environment providing the team was meeting the targets.Team leaders were down to earth and supportive with concerns, covid “ended” so the lab closed.

Pros

Good colleagues

Sad

Was veryMuch looking forward to beginning my career at the NHS. It took less than sixMonths for me to quit. The culture and bullying on the ward were unbearable and management did nothing. I loved my job with the patients the problem was with the staff. Sad as I really wanted a career there but there’s only so much you can withstand.

Pros

Good weekend pay.

Cons

13 hour shift. Other staff. Management.

If there’s enough staff you will be alright

The hardest part of the job was during COVID.Having to work with a mask for 12 hours. Also there’s no nurses or support workers to patient ratio and that can be very challenging. You can easily find yourself doing the load of two support workers by yourself in a day.One day is ok but it was becoming the norm. It’s physically draining.

Pros

Free training

Cons

Long hours, very fast paced

Fantastic company to work for.

Fantastic company to work for. Had many happy years supporting the most amazing service users. Management were mostly supportive and the community houses were well run.

Toileting duties above person centred care

Do not get a minute to connect with patients as staffing is always short. Purpose of job is taking people to the toilet expected workload is a disgrace.

Pros

Nice patients and some staff

Cons

No personal touch, no time for person centred care

Great staff just stressful

Typical nhs- underfunded so not many staff. Great place to work though, management help you push yourself to learn more, so the development is there if you want it

The salary is not worth the heartache

As a Band2/3 you expected to work load as a Band 6/7 while you are work to death like work horses. Your only existence there to make others day easier. They say they are too posh to touch to poo it is Band 2 s job. Paid half as a nurse and made work at least double the work load as a nurse. Are your life span really quarter of the value of nurses. Advancements kept deliberately very stagnant like a carrot on a stick. If you are part of two main ethnicities you will get advancements in all aspects far faster and easier, easier work areas and better paying shifts will be given to you. You will get emotionally and physically broken finally.

Cons

Incivility and 3/4k less pay than another neighbouring trust closer to London

Terrible place with bad management

Terrible management on Dickens Ward. Left to your own devices when starting new, when you need the most support there was none, nobody helped from management and when they did speak the had no respect

Pros

Great patients

Cons

Management

Rewarding

Rewarding place to work and as a team overcoming great challenges. Working for a national treasure means feeling that every time you go in to work you are making others feel physically and mentally safer.

Toxic working culture

Long hours, lack of support, toxic working environment, left after 3 weeks of working there, no worth it even tho job role itself is about taking care of patients. Difficult to do it in your own!!!
