Great employer overall
Dental Nurse/Receptionist (Current Employee) - Scotland - 28 June 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedNHS is generally an ok employer. Depending on what Band you are. Time off is good and great perks such as sick pay, maternity pay etc. can be long hours at times

Team Support Worker (Clinical) (Current Employee) - Stockton-on-Tees - 29 June 2022
The hardest job I’ve ever done emotionally but the reward of helping people in their darkest hour and working with great people is great and although some days can be long and stressful the good days outweigh the bad
Pros
Making a difference
Cons
Long hours

Great
Account Manager (Current Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 27 June 2022
Pretty enjoyable, good employer… happy where I am, still have the flexibility to work from home, which is a big plus due to the price of parking which is extremely expensive
Pros
Free lunches
Cons
Long hours

Busy but the good kind
Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Stockport, Greater Manchester - 27 June 2022
It’s not for the light hearted! But met some lovely people and rewarding job! Enjoyed it! Was very full on and all hands on deck. Understaffed at times, but the helping others is definitely worth it!
Pros
Lunch discount
Cons
Long days

Great workplace!
Clerical Administrator (Current Employee) - Northampton, Northamptonshire - 24 June 2022
I’ve worked a little in the private sector and working for the NHS imo has really good benefits, better than private for me. Excellent amount of holidays given each year, flexibility around childcare and working from home. Overall I feel very job secure working for the NHS.

Could be better
111 Health Advisor (Former Employee) - Wakefield - 21 June 2022
The workplace wasn’t too bad, however, if your face fits you’ll get favouritism over the other people who work twice as hard. There is no problem solving either. If someone has an issue with you the managers just tell you to keep away from each other. There’s hardly any recognition either.
Pros
Good pay
Cons
You’re expected to work 3 weekends of out 4

Jobs at NHS
Good place to work as a team
Health Care Assistant (Current Employee) - Leicester - 16 June 2022
Lots of benefits, huge amounts of staff lots of interesting places to work, can progress if you get in the right department, you will make lots of friends. Flexible working available

Responsibilities
Courier Driver (Former Employee) - Radlett, Hertfordshire - 15 June 2022
Reasonable place to work. Uniform provided, good vehicles. Long lead in time from interview to placement with lots of duplication of personal information required. Wages too low considering the fact that the driver has to deal with patients in the mental health system. Office staff are paid more.
Cons
Wages should be better.

Horrible
Staff Nurse (Current Employee) - Gloucester, Gloucestershire - 14 June 2022
Horrible place to work, bullying culture. Lots of room for progression but jobs are given based on who you know not what you know. Staff are not appreciated at all, never praised when doing well but management are quick to point fingers when things not so good.
Pros
good annual leave after a few years. good pension
Cons
Overworked. Underpaid

Fast paced, great benefits, nice colleagues
Receptionist/Administrator (Current Employee) - Edinburgh - 8 June 2022
Great place to work, good benefits ie pension/sick pay etc. Work life balance. Would say that more room for progression is needed if you want to move up the ladder.

Unprofessional, not stable
NHS 111 Health Advisor- Covid Vaccine Booking Line - Work from Home (Former Employee) - Remote - 7 June 2022
Managers arrogant, unhelpful, was promised 3 months, but let go after 2 weeks without any notice. Not good if u have bills to pay and family to support. They should give more notice before letting go, allowing time to find another job

Good and bad
Doctor (Former Employee) - North West - 6 June 2022
The good - you actually have a secure job, with benefits, NHS pension. The philosophy of the NHS as a free healthcare provision at point of need is beautiful. Cons - the NHS is a congested system. Probably free healthcare getting too loftier a goal to reach. Or probably intentional jeopardising of the system by people in high places. Trickles down to a place filled with stifling bureaucracy, poor job satisfaction and low pay.

Not the worst by a long shot
Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) - Bury St. Edmunds - 5 June 2022
Decent place to work, friendly people.. Management do like a scapegoat when anything goes wrong. About as secure as any job these days. Good salary for order pickers.

Too long hours
Health Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Basingstoke - 30 May 2022
The hours are too long, the help is not there from management when you need it. The other staff are amazing, it's the office & senior staff that are no good.

Service desk engineer
NHS service desk (Former Employee) - Merseyside - 30 May 2022
Really good training provided and can go at your own pace, with the market paying higher for similar jobs that’s where you will struggle to retain staff.
Pros
Good management and team
Cons
Pay lacks at current market rate
