Reviews for Accountant at NHS

A Trust in serious trouble

Preparation of Annual Report was dependent, in the main, of temporary senior executives who did not understand their responsibilities for providing relevant information. Finance staff however, at senior levels, were excellent. The turnover of senior executives in the Trust had a detrimental effect on workplace culture.

Good place to work in.

A clearly strategic organisation with excellent leadership. One of the beacon organisations in the NHS in my view. Enjoyed my job there. A great environment. The hardest thing for me was that I had to stay in Nottingham in the week and return at weekend as I lived in Essex but it was doable.

Pros

Good pay, interesting role, good team and innovative.

Cons

Travel as stated above.

World's third largest employer

I really enjoyed my time with NHS Wales and was able to work across the finance function in a number of challenging roles, both before and after I qualified as a chartered accountant.
