Once you have begun your career as a Healthcare Support Worker, there are many opportunities for career progression. As you develop, you’ll be given more responsibility and you’ll have the opportunity to gain qualifications and progress. This, plus the experience you gain, will help you if you’re planning to take your career to the next level.You may decide you like being a Healthcare Support Worker and develop your skills further as part of this. This could include working up to running clinics, taking people’s blood, and learning how to do ECGs. You may decide that you want to become a Nursing Associate or a Registered Nurse. There are many pathways to help you get here and Trusts will support you in this. You can explore the different opportunities available and find resources to help plan your career on NHS Careers www.healthcareers.nhs.uk/
