Lovely place to work

Stressful and understaffed.

Great colleagues, they all work exceptionally hard for not enough pay, holidays hard to book due to staff shortage. You can be moved to another ward during your shift even if your ward is dangerously understaffed, leaving your colleagues to struggle.

Confidentiality is a BIG no in that place

Confidentiality when dealing with employees related problems doesn’t exist in that place, ESPECIALLY when the allegations are false. Senior management who should support employees simply doesn’t care. Things that should stay confidential are talked about by a senior management, who assured of confidentiality, to other staff members that is later causing gossips and rumours going around hospital about things that has never happened. No support as such from higher supervisors/managers, decisions are made about employee without informing the employee. Senior management, as well as other staff member, doesn’t really show respect to other people, they judge you. Job itself is rewarding, but it is mostly thanks to appreciation from patients. Just don’t trust anybody and don’t share anything personal if you’re willing to work for the place. Communication is a also really bad between senior management and the above employee, if you don’t chase them nobody informs you about anything what is going to, even though you’re one of the parties involved. Can’t even describe how badly place affected my mental health and trust to other people. I have never been so happy about leaving my job as I was when I left ULHT.

Pros

Rewarding job thanks to patients

Cons

Confidentiality doesn’t exist in that place No respect for other staff members

Slow paced sometimes

The job is okay , staff morale is low and it’s not pleasant . No opportunity for progression. The atmosphere is not welcoming and there is very much a divide between staff . The training is decent and you have a mentor and are never left on your own. There’s logbooks and computer work to do and keep up to date with .

Very productive and sometimes fun

I feel it is a very serious job and other members of staff appreciate what we do for the nhs and how we assist there job rolls and how we can help patients and visitors

Stressful and unsupportive atmosphere

As a bank healthcare you have no direct manager so you tend to feel very isolated if you have problems or concerns it’s difficult to know who to go to. Very stressful environment staffing levels are always extremely poor and scary.

Good depending on department

Work its self is fine but pay is ridiculous, you earn more working in a care home, despite having more training and responsibilities. Also think it's unfair the government are giving 1000 pounds to care home workers but yet again NHS staff are left out

Hard work very stressed at times but great team

Great staff team just very underpaid and undervalued by heads of service Can be extremely challenging and far to much can be expected as we are usually running understaffed

Face paced rewarding

Overall everyone has been lovely you go in do your job and Leave, although I’ve noticed some nurses/staff are very low in moral at the moment but I’m sure everyone is. It’s fun and rewarding but also sad at times but gives you peace knowing you have helped someone that day.

Do not work here.

I keep seeing ‘12 hour shifts’ being advertised, it’s a lie when it’s really 13 hour shifts with a 45 minute break through out the whole day. The flexibility is also to their advantage not yours. Very clicky culture, negative energy and toxic staff. Everyone is overly critical of how everyone else works. One of the worst places I have ever worked, do not work here if you value your mental health.

Okay ish

Very stressful some perks but not good when you are the only permanent member of staff and loads of agency who do nothing. So unsafe and dangerously which is scary

Caring fun workplace!

It’s a good workplace, but because of the understaffing at the moment, it’s really hard and difficult on the NHS. But other than that, it’s good to work for.

Overall good but could be better

Mostly good but could be better.Hard work, not enough pay for the responsibility and accountability.Overall it was good but the system needs a big shake up. You don't go into nursing to be rich, though! :)
