Poor service for staff
Although most of the consultants were a pleasure to work for some very definitely were not. Most of the staff worked flexible hours but ensuring their clinic times were covered. The management all had different approaches to the work load, which made our days difficult
Pros
flexible hours as long as core hours worked

Challenging
Working within the NHS is very challenging. No 2 days are the same. The most enjoyable part of the job is helping patients with their queries and concerns. It can be very demanding but also very rewarding. Really enjoy working in NHS practices.
Pros
Free lunches
Cons
Long hours

Hard work but good benefits ie pension, salary and job security
The NHS is a busy overstretched service so there has been lot of hard work involved in most roles I have been in. Although they are hard work I have always been lucky and worked with some great people and also made some good friends along the way. You would have great job security working in the NHS and the chance to join one of the best workplace pensions on offer.
Pros
Great pension, job security, fair salary and good holiday allocation.
Cons
Very hard work.
