Good managers within a dodgy structure
Area Manager (Former Employee) - UK - 24 August 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI have decades of management experience. The managers I worked with at NIC were exceptionally competent with a great attitude. However, even they cannot overcome the overall culture within this very large company, which has lost its way. Many things worked well but they are a very inconsistent company and tend to shoot themselves in the foot with foolish, easily rectifiable errors in their processes. I enjoyed myself but they are also a very frustrating company to deal with. My overall verdict - infinitely better than the other large cleaning companies I’ve worked for, (but the bar is set very low).
Pros
Fantastic attitude from my bosses
Cons
Some stupid, unnecessary mistakes were made. Regularly.

Not a fun company to work for
Area Manager (Former Employee) - Cheshire - 21 July 2023
They will have you out for 4 in the morning to be at a site In Flintshire for 6 then your not getting home till 6 plus when you do get home there's more work to be done on your laptop it's mayhem and to top it off your cleaners can walk away earning more money than you and your the manager if you love working really hard for very little pay then NIC is for you but I would advise to stay away it's not what it seems and for 25k kiss my a##

NIC has been a great company to work for, they do care very much regarding staffing, and I have been fortunate to have excellent management team. Sorry leave, maybe go back in the future.
Pros
Always have a place of contact, if needed. This is a huge bonus
Cons
Hours for budgets are difficult, however I know it’s the need of the business

No Job is guaranteed.
Area Manager (Former Employee) - Liverpool, Merseyside - 13 February 2023
Needs a dedicated recruitment team. Client is too needy. Their staff don't follow their own rules. They expect a champagne service but are only willing to pay a lemonade price.
Pros
Consumables never on time
Cons
Stressed long hours

Bad Management need to learn some manners
Area Manager (Former Employee) - Cornwall - 23 October 2022
Just be careful before you join the company they will lie and promise you the world. I’m very surprised that the Management can talk to their staff in that manner. There is no communication what so ever. You been told that you will manage your team and cover as an area manager. But all you do is cleaning because they have no staff due to the way they get treated. Think twice….

Unprofessional Workplace; useless upper management
Area Manager (Former Employee) - Gloucester, Gloucestershire - 7 February 2022
- interview in a coffee shop; offered job on spot - no support from regional manager - expected to cover multiple stores 7 days a week with no room in budget to have cover cleaners - effectively working 7 days a week on call all day. - would stay very far away from company. Any position It is only a ‘tough industry’ due to poor upper management if managed correctly would be a lot easier for employees and would improve quality of service for the clients.
Pros
No pros only cons
Cons
no training, no support, list goes on

Not for the faint hearted
Area Manager (Former Employee) - Nationwide - 1 February 2021
Yea this industry is fast paced and can be tough. I felt that while I was supported personally the job is just to difficult to complete anywhere near to you contracted hours so while you think the salary is good it’s actually no reflection on the true amount of hours put in. You cannot complete your work in 49 hours per week maybe 60 Don’t get me wrong I worked with some amazing people and they works so hard to achieve but only seem to get negative feedback.
Pros
Colleagues
Cons
Long long hours expected, targets last minute needs to be done in 24 hours when you have no staff to do this

Stay Well Clear
Area Manager (Former Employee) - Slough - 7 May 2019
Stay well clear as the title states. Management have no background in the industry. Man management is an alien concept. no structure, no support, no training, no equipment, no help, no face to face with regional 'support'
This company employs people who turn up to interview, jobs yours. People with no training or background in cooking left running units alone.
Wages are a joke, never right, or on time, management care little to none. exspense's never paid/ always late/ never right.
Whilst employed by this company i actually defaulted on my privately rented flat due to wages/exspenses not being paid-management still did not care. Left after 8 months as no choice- 3 months later im still awaiting final payments.
Even after 8 months, i was still waiting for a work email to be set up, a work phone, and a work laptop- i received none. Expected to do my job with 0 resources.
STAY WELL CLEAR
