It was a job during the pandemic
Cleaning Assistant (Former Employee) - Bishopbriggs - 30 September 2023
There wasn't proper training of how to use the chemicals or equipment. The NIC manager showed us where to sign in then he buggered off for the whole shift. We didn't know what was the main priorities were. So things weren't getting done like log sheets for toilets etc it was down to not being trained correctly. The job it's self wasn't exactly hard. Pay was terrible minimum wage. You occasionally got some extra hours. It was double pay or that. You didn't always have the equipment or chemicals to clean with.
Pros
None wouldn't recommend
Cons
It was a job to do me during the pandemic

Amazing company to work for
Cleaner (Current Employee) - Burton-On-Trent, Staffordshire - 28 September 2023
I really enjoy working for this company. The support is amazing, if I need anything to help do my job in the best way they always listen and send the tools needed. I get feedback online or via phone call and there is always a member of management if needed. The staff where I have been assigned to are all amazing. I get complete job satisfaction working for NIC which helps me want to do the best job possible so in turn I’m always learning and expanding on my cleaning knowledge for them
Pros
Feedback. Support. 10-15 min drive to get to work, work flexibility AM or PM hrs
Cons
Only 6hrs a week would love more hours

Productive and fun loving place
Cleaner (part-time) early morning Monday to friday (Current Employee) - Pontypool - 20 September 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Support, guidance and training. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? None really. As long as you satisfy the customer. I like to do extra things. Anyway. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Just do the best you can and try new solutions and you get no criticism like some companies. You also get a bit of empowerment and feel secured. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Busy but having nice conversations with early starters which I like. One of the most rewarding jobs and I feel valued. Which is what makes the wheels go round.

Job was ok but basic with no perks. Lots of probs within the company and with the staff. Good boss though who was very fair and supportive and decent work environment.

It's ok I've had worse same as most work places What is a typical day like for you at the company? Just like any other day really what more can I say

Wouldn’t recommend
Cleaner (part-time) (Former Employee) - Tesco frozen Warehouse Daventry - 5 August 2023
The job itself is ok if your happy to work in a freezer environment but what let’s it down is the poor handling by management and the failure to adequately provide coverage for shifts ie if someone is on holiday you will find yourself working alone and you will often find you don’t have sufficient resources to do your job ie cleaning gloves/ chemicals. I would also say to anyone who’s considering to work for NIC to record your work hours as a backup to check your wages are correct.
Pros
On-site canteen
Cons
Repetitive job/ poor handling by management

Jobs at NIC Services Group
Cleaner positionsVery poor company
Cleaning operative (Former Employee) - Teesport - 14 July 2023
Unless you simply can't find another job elsewhere and your totally desperate then I urge you not to work for this company, they use and abuse you with overtime pay (paying at standard rate no matter how many hours you do for them) management are a complete joke with no training whatsoever, if you don't fit in with the managements little click group you become even less than a number and will also need to fight like mad to get any holiday requests authorized wether they are important to you or not. Please use this company only as a stepping stone into a better company.
Pros
None at all
Cons
Everything

It is work.
Cleaner (Current Employee) - Norwich, Norfolk - 8 July 2023
You do your jobs, you leave, as long as you fill your weekly hour contract and log your hours right, you don’t get bothered. Bit excessive to require 3 ways to clock in. Managements hit or miss, you could get someone friendly or someone who cannot do their job. Pay is living wage. It does get boring quick. Alright for a temporary job but I would start looking for a new job after 3-6 months, very repetitive. Easy work.

Under paid, management poor and forcing you to do more than your jobs while they sit on their bums
Cleaner (Current Employee) - Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear - 6 July 2023
Short of pay for around a year Boss doesn’t work just walks around seeing what you’re doing unlike previous bosses. No communication or planning for future holidays so you’re left like a sitting duck

Micromanagement at area level.
Cleaning Supervisor (Current Employee) - Sainsburys distribution - 29 June 2023
Micromanagement at area level with unrealistic workload. Local management excellent with support and great team work. Fair pay but in this day and age never going to be enough Big brother regime with everything being tracked but do the job and again at Local level no problems. As with most firms nowadays no paid lunch breaks and only SSP if sick.
Pros
Great local management
Cons
SSP. Unpaid lunch breaks. Poor senior management

Cleaner (part-time) (Former Employee) - Hartlepool, Durham - 29 June 2023
Its a job. where I was working, my manager failed to order equipment that was required to do the job. Terrible hours (5am-7am), a lot of the time I was required to stay back due to short staff & when I did stay back it wasnt on my paycheck.

What a shower of…
Industrial Cleaner (Current Employee) - Thirsk, North Yorkshire - 29 June 2023
So I have worked for this company for over three years now, and this company is a shower! There is no role security on my site, our original terms of contract are eroded on a yearly basis. This year we were given a pay rise by the government to help with the cost of living crisis, so NIC decided to cut our site budget to help off set there loss in profits by the pay rise, its typical get a rise in our hourly wage, but then lose hours as a consequence. However despite the loss of hours they still expect the same services to be carried out, further more I think there lots of odd forms being filled out on site that are deemed to be “legal documents” which don’t actually reflect the services we have provided on that workday… the company is a shower of…
Pros
Non
Cons
Hours getting cut without consent
