Work place is stressful to work at
In Store Cleaning Manager (Former Employee) - Grimsby - 8 August 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedMy over all experience working for this company was that you’re told to do so much for such little pay!! I was hired as a manager and I was getting payed £1 more than my staff and was doing so much more than what I’m payed. You barely get an answer from higher management and if you do certain things your way they’re not happy you didn’t consult them first?
Pros
Lovely team
Cons
Poor communication between management and extremely low pay

Unfair workplace, underpaid
In Store Cleaning Manager (Former Employee) - March, Cambridgeshire - 8 November 2023
Spoken down to by management, if something not gone their way you will be the escape goat. Over worked and under paid comes into this work. They will hire anyone with a serious criminal record and people who are very under skilled but would expect the top quality after day 1

It paid the bills
In Store Cleaning Manager (Former Employee) - Scarborough - 9 October 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Fairly reliable wage and easy to use signing in system What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Lack of help from senior team and high turnover of colleagues leading to extra pressure on existing staff, cancelling on pre booked holidays or unable to book holidays due to holidays being refused if staff are on sick. No on the job training, being expected to learn how to use machines by watching a video. No overtime rate. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Pressured and undervalued staff What is a typical day like for you at the company? No two days are the same but normally trying to do to much in too little time with too little tools

Not enough hours to complete tasks
In Store Cleaning Manager (Current Employee) - Barnstaple - 9 October 2022
I have worked for nic since May and they don’t put enough hours into the store for jobs required. Attendance is poor and hard to discipline colleagues as a manager and hr/divisional manager no support. Budget for equipment is low so struggle to complete work.

Pay is poor. No support from management. Places of the contracted work are bad and managers there in most cases are over bearing. Stressful job.two week payroll cutoff date which is very confusing, long wait for uniforms,PPE etc. Including constant wait to access cleaning supplies. Wages never paid correctly, No real support from the top.
Pros
Good pay

Service and commercial
In Store Cleaning Manager (Current Employee) - Coventry - 15 September 2021
It is such a well structured company and the only problem I saw is operation management is very poor but I don't blame them because it must be a direct engement option from top management and this emerging with beuracrasy as well.
Pros
Nothing seemed free you get everything as you work for it.
Cons
More long hours uncompansiated fir

Waste of time
In store cleaning manager (Current Employee) - Scotland - 13 November 2020
If you expect to feel respected and appreciated- do not apply to work for this company. Extremely poor management- area and regional managers availability only when major problems at site (major from company's point of view not employee's).
Pros
Flexibility
Cons
Management

Terrible
In Store Cleaning Manager (Former Employee) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - 7 April 2020
I was a cleaning manager in a retail store . Stressful job , early starts , 6 days a week , which rarely happened . High turnover of staff, new starters promised a certain set of hours per week , to be told their hours are to be dropped . If you work overtime you only get the minimum wage , you have to cover all holidays , as they no extr staff to do any cover
All audits have to be green , no matter what
Area managers aren’t bothered as long the store is covered and audit above 90%
Would not work for them again
Too much detail to go into , and it would be 3 pages long

Poor company
In Store Cleaning Manager (Current Employee) - Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire - 13 September 2019
Have had nothing but problems with this company since starting the job. Managers have no interest in supporting you at all, you’re expected to change shifts at the drop of a hat and if you don’t they just change your contracted hours so you have to do it. I was promised uniform and safety boots, for weeks I had to wear an old minging polo shirt that another staff member had handed back, it was given to me to wear the next day unwashed! Still haven’t got any safety boots 4 months later. Management are impossible to get a hold of if you have a problem, I’ve worked under a new area manager for two months, I still haven’t met her and I’ve spoke with her on the phone once. In store managers are expected to work early morning shifts and be fully flexible, if you have plans of any sort after your shift ends you are expected to cancel them no matter what. Overtime is paid at minimum wage for in store managers, yet you are still expected to do a managers job. And god forbid you ever need a reference off them!
Pros
Easy job. Short hours
Cons
Poor managers. Lack of communication or respect. No work life balance even working part time

dissapointed to say the least . Sainsburys
In Store Cleaning Manager (Former Employee) - Torfaen Sainsburys - 8 July 2019
NIC took over the cleaning contract in Febuary of 2019, I had worked for a different company at the same store for 7 yrs and never had any problems until NIC came along and what a joke , no support ,left to just get on with it , was doing the work of 4 others in my allocated hours with not even a thank you .9 people left the job in the space of 5 months , mostly due to the reviews the company had [ I know every work place has bad reviews but that's a joke, loved my job , never failed an audit in all the years I was there ,got on with the store managers and even they were disappointed that I left but they understand why , was even asked to come back by them ,but unless things change then I wont , all I wanted was the right cleaning equipment and some support then I would of stayed and just got on with it, like I did for the last 7 years.
went into store as I was local and I could of died with how bad the store was looking , dirty toilets , the place looked dirty and was looking bad. The staff that have come from another store should be ashamed of them selves if that's what they call cleaning then good luck to them as they need it , and its why I believe the company as a bad name for itself due to there staff as in they clean how they think they should instead of how its supposed to be done.
unless supervised they just seem to do what they like and Id go as far to say that some are there just to clock up the hours for more money
Cons
everything needs reviewing

In store cleaning manager
In Store Cleaning Manager (Former Employee) - Lancashire - 10 November 2016
Dont ever work for them they have you working hours that you don't get paid for like training staff in your own hours and then working your hours on top plus making you sack staff for no reason no support or training involved for your own job your just handed some books and told to get on with it and when you make a mistake because of no training or support they have a go at you they expect you to sort stuff out in your own time like rotas time sheets wages and tasks and organizing equipment
Pros
Its a job
Cons
Not paid no training no support
