IT Service Desk Analyst in Norwich, Norfolk
Good environment, not great progression
Worked for NCC for 2 years now and haven’t been able to advance to a different role. Pay has increased slightly but not by much. General working environment was good, however since COVID-19, the communication has been very sub-standard and a lot of blame is passed onto others. Work/life balance is very good having public holidays and a normal working week of 37 hours + Flex time which has been very nice when needing a day off here and there. A good place to work, but be aware of lack of progression unless someone moves on!
Newly Qualified Social Worker in County Hall and East Dereham
Excellent support package for Newly Qualifed Social Workers
Norfolk is a beautiful county to work in. The lovely countryside helps with alleviating the pressures that come with the profession. Their Programme for Newly Qualified Social Workers is excellent; easing the anxiety one experiences as newly qualified. The teams I worked in, were both friendly and supportive. I would definitely recommend Norfolk County Council as ‘the place to be’ for Social workers considering working there.
Clerical Assistant in Norwich, Norfolk
Worked here 19 years, total joke of a place, bullying management, public treat you like dirt. Loyalty is never rewarded, very ‘clicky’ place, if your face doesn't fit, you have no hope.
Adult lecturer in Norwich City Centre, Norfolk
Great bringing older people up to date in IT. I set my own classes and content based on students knowledge.
I could adapt my ideas to each students interests. I.e. spread sheets for budgets knitting patterns engineering problems etc
Management are not supportive and caseloads are unmanageable. There is no opportunity for a work life balance. Too much hierarchy of management structure. Avoid avoid avoid
