NSL Wins IIP Platinum
We are delighted to announce that NSL have been awarded Platinum accreditation for the Investors in People (IiP) standard.
IiP is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support and manage people effectively to achieve sustainable results. NSL was previously awarded Gold status in 2011, and, in the same year, was recognised as an IiP champion. The new Platinum accreditation reflects the company's commitment to maintaining the highest possible performance through the quality of its people management.
Representatives from IiP visited NSL in April and met with 128 members of staff to scrutinise the company's approach to its people, the quality of its leaders, its business behaviours and its management organisation.
"This is the highest award that Investors in People offers and is a credit to everyone within the business," added NSL's Managing Director, Mark Hoskin. "In all of our operations and across all the services we deliver for clients throughout the UK, we know people really do make the difference. So, naturally, we're delighted our determination to excel in people management has been recognised at the highest possible level within such a widely respected standard."
Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said: "We'd like to congratulate NSL on receiving such a coveted award. Investors in People accreditation is the sign of a great employer, an outstanding place to work and a clear commitment to success. NSL should be extremely proud of its Platinum award."
Sir Nicholas Winton Memorial Garden opened by Prime Minister
The Sir Nicholas Winton Memorial Garden, in Maidenhead, was designed and built by the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead in honour of Sir Nicholas’ brave actions that led to 669 children being rescued from Nazi-occupied Prague and rehomed in Britain in 1939. Sookyoung Im, Landscape Architect at Project Centre Ltd (Part of NSL), worked with the Royal Borough to design the planting in the garden, from concept through to detailed design.

Red Noses in the Highlands
Call Centres play a massive part in the success of both Red Nose Day and Sport Relief, taking many thousands of donations as well as completing their own fundraising projects. In 2015 over 146 call centres supported Red Nose Day helping to raise cash to give extremely vulnerable and disadvantaged people a helping hand to turn their lives around. This year, the NSL Call Centre in Dingwall is the furthest north of all participating centres and will, once again, be playing an important role with operators manning 50 dedicated lines for the duration of the 4½ hour live evening TV broadcast. No fewer than 65 volunteers will be on hand to handle an expected call volume in excess of over 250 calls an hour and provide refreshments and cover for colleagues.
“We know from previous years’ careful preparation is vital and that it will be a very busy evening,” says Kirsty Rudynski, Quality Officer at NSL Dingwall. “But, invariably, callers are in good spirits thanks to the fun on the TV, and every member of the team enjoys playing their part in such an important fund-raising exercise – which is why we have so many volunteers taking part throughout the evening. And, of course, we’ll also be fund raising ourselves through raffles, competitions, bake and bottle stalls and other activities. We can’t wait for the fun to begin and will soon be contacting pupils at local primary schools and local brownie packs to help us design our fundraising posters and to make some decorations for us!”
