Extremely poor pay for the abuse you receive
Civil Enforcement Officer (Former Employee) - Bridgwater, Somerset - 22 August 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedLeft alone to do your work. Very supportive supervisor and staff in Control, don’t expect anything from the Senior, no people skills and a liability out on the streets.

low morale. treated like children. escorted to the toilet
CCTV Operator (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 6 December 2023
wouldn't work here if u are a grown adult. supervisors have a lack of basic manners and respect toward staff. not allowed a drink at your desk. had to practically beg to be allowed water.

Manage your own day
Civil Enforcement Officer (Current Employee) - Fareham - 27 October 2023
Great place to work, you're left to manage your own day until when something pressing crops up. Is imagine this would be the same for any place of work. No two days are the same. Great people to work with. Supportive management The most enjoyable part of the day is that I make my own day. I have the freedom to carry out the day's objectives in the order I feel fit.

Insights into NSL Ltd
Areas for improvement
- Trust in colleagues
- Sense of belonging
- General feeling of work happiness
nothing for length of service.
Civil Enforcement Officer (Current Employee) - Oldham, Greater Manchester - 24 October 2023
a good team and decent place to work, everyone gets on well and people are generally happy. The abuse from the public can be a bit much at times but its apart of the job. The lack of company benefits is a shame, nothing for long serving members of staff and the rewards we used to get all taken away. its a shame the company directors don't care about there staff.

Absolute garbage
Civil Enforcement Officer (Former Employee) - Nottinghamshire - 21 September 2023
Save yourself the hassle and do not bother working for them! Get abuse all day every day mostly from the public but management aren’t much better you don’t get the support needed and you really don’t need the stress! Working out in all weathers when managers do as they please even when they should be out on street too but because it’s raining they won’t go out 😂😂 Pay is disgusting

The worst environment I ever worked in. I would not recommend this career to anyone.
Civil Enforcement Officer (Former Employee) - Nottinghamshire - 16 September 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Active job which requires a lot of walking and physical fitness. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The CONSTANT abuse from public. Always a threat of escalation to physical assault. This is very common and NSL offer no support if you are injured. There is no sick pay and required to contact management everyday prior to shift to inform them you are absent- reason why and when you will return. Video badges are provided but these often do not work and although a requirement for safety you will still be sent out without it recording to ensure NSL can be paid from council. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The worse you can imagine. Colleagues are supportive of each other. Management are extremely poor. They do not have any care for the employees and talk only of the requirements of the contract. You do not matter in the slightest to them. The equipment you are given which is supposedly for safety is used only to gather evidence against you. Everything is measured by the minute because that’s how the contract with authorities works. You never receive any praise for the good work you put in and this soon changes to why should I bother. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Abuse from public and big brother watching every movement from management.

Good work life balance
Civil Enforcement Officer (Former Employee) - Brighton, East Sussex - 29 July 2023
Good people, Good management, good pay and tbf not an overall bad experience. People don't actually hate you, they just don't like getting caught, talk with them and help them and normally they are alright

Long hours, No overtime pay, no benefits
Civil Enforcement Officer (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 25 July 2023
Working for this company, is a shamble, the equipment doesn’t work in any weather conditions, except you to come to work everyday. No benefits or overtime for the abuse. Don’t waste your time

Parking Enforcement Officer (Former Employee) - Edinburgh - 24 July 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Good hours , great team , reasonable pay. Negatives must like walking in all weather's and dealing with angry people (but not regularly). What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Weather long distance walking and the odd angry driver. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Welcoming accomadate your needs , friendly team. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Fine providing your OK with dealing with general public.

Okay
Civil Enforcement Officer (Current Employee) - Brighton, East Sussex - 5 July 2023
Lovw to be out and about, not a lot of money for the abuse you get from public, also managers have favourite employees and treat them diferently, but a lot of overtime if you are interested.

Dont even bother
Civil Enforcement Officer (Former Employee) - Bolton - 16 June 2023
Only benefit to working here was the walking . The staff turnover is absolutely shocking . If you want to be spoken to in a condescending manner , berated for every mistake , made to feel like youre dispensable, work with broken equipment, and left completely stranded this is the place to work . Colleagues were lovely (well some) management really clique and will bully whomever they dont like that week , also will as little work as possible and wont do weekends .
Pros
Walking
Cons
Everything

Nsl traffic attendant Belfast is a boot camp
Traffic Attendant (Current Employee) - Belfast, County Antrim - 23 May 2023
When I started this job I thought it would be hard on the street as traffic attendants are not liked much by the public. Well I was very wrong about that because you got badly abused by the management. They like to discipline you there is no room for error. It’s not acceptable you cannot go to management and ask for help because you’re not your help everything you do is scrutinised by management. You are given faulty equipment and sent onto the street you will be abused every day by the management they will use foul language when the address you are so badly run

I'd probably go to a different area
CEO (Former Employee) - Ashton-Under-Lyne - 7 May 2023
The tameside branch is restricted in what you can actually do, other councils have clearer rules and listen to your feedback more. It's an ok job but you're constantly being monitored making it difficult to be as effective as you'd want to be.

Terrible workplace
Parking Supervisor (Former Employee) - Edinburgh - 4 May 2023
Poor deceitful management, promise everything, deliver nothing. Bad wages, doing manager job for junior pay, no support, lack of trust. Nobody cares, your only a number, to be exploited at every opportunity.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Poor support, management lie to you, pay, social life balance, company think they own you.
