Our interviews will vary to suit each and every different career we have in our organisation. In some cases there may be telephone interviews or assessment centres and in others just face to face interviews. Our advice would be to always take time to prepare, understand the job description and have a think about how you may answer competency based interview questions. Initial casual telephone call asking about why you applied for the job, discuss the job role and if successful with that stage followed up with an email invite for a face to face interview where you are then asked more in depth questions about the competency of the role.
You get interviewed by one person and in my experience a porter as well that sits through the interview with no interest in what you have too say and looks depressed.
Basically you may as well have a stuffed teddy bear sitting with the other person
The interview is usually Customer Service questions on what you do on this particular situation or through you’re experience and they will accommodate around your experience having said that the interview is based on favouritism not on merit. Discriminatory staff and management. Disgusting!!
No use of best practice techniques. Interviews are a set of questions, posed by under-trained line managers. Rarely includes practical testing, and decisions are made in terms of people being a "good fit" for the team they are being recruited for. I heard this term being used by a senior HR director to her managers. Surely this opens the door to discrimination?
