Senior Carer Assistant (Current Employee) - Various - 14 August 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedEvery day is different with it's own set of challenges depending on your placement. Most important thing I've leaned is ensure that you enjoy your day - laugh, engage, find your place in the team. I have found NursePlus to be very supportive in sticky situations, and put a lot of effort into ensuring that their agents are well trained.. Their response rate is spot on, and support staff work very hard into ensuring you have regular bookings. I am very happy working with NursePlus!
Pros
Positive support

They don’t care
Carer (Current Employee) - North East - 23 May 2023
They keep employing staffs without providing shifts for the staffs they already have. Ever since they changed management they really don’t care about their staffs. No shifts available for over a month but they keep recruiting
Cons
No available shifts

Spiteful
Home Carer (Former Employee) - Eastbourne, East Sussex - 29 November 2021
If you value yourself do not work for this company They say they share the work out fairly … no they do not the favourites get the work and if your not one of them you get pitiful hours … you get penalised for giving work back even though you have no contract and are zero hours… . office staff are two faced spiteful and nasty and take work back if you hand work back or go sick ….. if your a good carer you get overlooked it’s only the carers that kill themselves working all the hours god sends that get recognition … they ask for availability you give it the they put you down for work on the days you can’t do and when you tell them they say that you can hand it back which would leave you with no work … constant texts and voicemails …..

Not a nice place to work
Carer Assistant (Former Employee) - Andover branch - 23 September 2021
I worked there for 11yrs. I was treated like a taxi to chauffeur the under 18s and the carers who could not drive around. Always out in the villages, drove for miles and all I got off management was stop moaning. Not a nice place to work for under that management who is in charge at the moment.
Pros
No time for lunch.
Cons
Long hours, no traveling time

Office staff not nice
Carer (Former Employee) - Newton Abbot, Devon - 13 September 2021
Most of the girls in the office are not nice, they get staff to do extra shifts, they are nice to people on the phone but then put them down when they put the phone down
Pros
Reasonable pay
Cons
Not nice office staff, pestered to do shifts

Absolutely awful
Home Carer (Former Employee) - Eastbourne, East Sussex - 19 July 2021
I've never worked in such an unprofessional workplace. Management is awful and they don't care about any of their employees or the people they supposedly care for. DO NOT work at nurseplus absolute joke. They do not handle issues well at all and tend to push them aside or ignore them no matter how important.
Pros
None
Cons
Long hours, bad pay, spiteful, unprofessional bosses

Wouldn't waste much time to work for them
Home carer (Former Employee) - Folkestone - 10 December 2020
Home carer tasks include: food shopping, personal care, using equipements such as hoist, nursing tasks and administering medication. My experience as a home carer was the following: they have asked on the interview about my availability which I gave but after that they never stuck to it, and kept calling me to cover more and more calls. I was told I am not allowed to exlude weekend days from my availability. Since I didn't drive my hours spent with walking from one call to another was not paid, even though most of my calls started at 7am and ended at 10pm. I felt exhausted every day and they always tried to make me cover calls which were far away from where I live and they haven't payed fro taxi either.
Pros
On site trainings for medication and manual handling, Good team
Cons
Long hours which are not paid, lack of communication from management, management don't stick to your available hours

So far so good
Carer (Current Employee) - Gosport, Hampshire - 8 June 2020
I have been working at nurseplus for 10 weeks now. Never working in care before I was pretty nervous, I went round on a few shifts shadowing at first and was offered more time and shifts shadowing if I didnt feel ready.
The other carer I worked with filled me with confidence and has shown me the ropes. If I'm not sure of anything I call the staff in the office who are always happy to help. The hours are pretty flexible and generally get what I want.
The staff and other carers are kind and helpful.
Although its only been 10 weeks I really love my job.
