I love my job, and the manager of my branch is really nice and friendly. But I think they can do more in the aspect of seeing their staff as king.
Health Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Kingston upon Hull - 15 August 2022
Nice working environment. Especially for the full contracted staffs. The manager is simply the best. Nice, and ready to assist. However I was devasted in their welfarism. I felt like I wasn't valued.

I have been working for Nurse plus for just under a year. They are very good and give me lots of work and constantly have work available so i will work more hours when i can. I like all the homes they send me too and all the staff in the office are nice and run a very good business. I cannot recommend them enough.

Not fairly managed
RGN (Current Employee) - Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear - 11 August 2022
Agencies are what they are but nurseplus is very spiteful and back biting and they have a ‘click’ You go into the office or phone for something and you are not made welcome unless your one of the managers ‘favourites’. I feel very uneasy as they are all young girls who talk at you or over you and make you feel very much that they are your boss. It’s not really like being part of a team for most of the staff. The ones that are liked by the managers are treat very differently. I have spoken to colleagues and they all agree. Good company if you’re liked but if not your just tolerated. There is work available so that’s good, you just don’t feel valued at all.
Pros
Work a available
Cons
Feel undervalued

Best in North East
RGN (Current Employee) - Darlington - 11 August 2022
I have registered for so many agencies and branches in my time and none compare to Darlington nurseplus. The two ladies in branch are amazing. Nothings a problem, they are professional yet approachable and so so friendly. You are supported, listened to and I think one of the things that impresses me the most is their knowledge of the care industry. I never understand how people can work in this field and not have a knowledge of nursing or care! These ladies have been there and done it! They’ve worked on the front line and so they totally get what they are asking you to do and appreciate everything you do for them. I would no hesitate in recommending this company to any nurse who wants work. Sign up, you won’t regret it!
Pros
Wages good, support 100%, knowledge of industry amazing.
Cons
So far I have no complaints

Do not bother
Support Worker (Current Employee) - Newton Abbot, Devon - 13 July 2022
the worst agency ! The most disgusting unkind office team!! So rude on phone and in office, considering it’s a care setting they do not care about you. They are like school children in the office, HORRIBLE. Anxiety was through the roof having to speak to them. Shifts will get cancelled and they won’t help you find another shift. If you fall unwell YOUR BOOKED SHIFFS WILL GET CANCELLED! They do not care about u, you are just a number to them. I had some issues which I thought I could confide in management / office and made to feel like a burden and stupid for even TALKING TO THEM. ALWAYS UNDERPAY YOU, always chasing pay. Join Ocean Health Care if you want a decent company to work for!!! I will forever slate Nurseplus for being the WORST!!!!!!!! If you work on the floor Nurseplus is HATED, the training is HORRENDOUS and I’m not surprised agencies have a bad name!!!!

Friendly colleagues and supportive working environment.
Payroll Administrator (Current Employee) - Ashford, Kent - 11 July 2022
Scheduled working environment with overall friendly staffs. Optimised environment and balanced workload. Fixed hours makes it easier to maintain your life out of work too. I did not have to go through any interview but the existing colleagues taught me through my responsibilities very well since day 1 and even now despite it has been around 3 weeks.
Pros
Almost everything
Cons
Don't have any negative feedbacks about it.

Could be better
Support Worker (Former Employee) - Durham - 1 July 2022
The homes/ services you get sent to are ok but you may aswell work for somewhere with an app. You get email after email offering you a list of shifts and dates, when you reply there’s either no response until the shift has gone or it gets booked and cancelled or not booked at all. No one talks to the staff anymore but at least if it was an app you would get some shifts. The branch you just get emails and then no response or a message saying there’s been a mistake or the home has booked you and cancelled you but when you mention it to the home they say they never booked you in the beginning. Lots of confusion means getting confirmations for shifts you know you’ve been cancelled for so lots of mix ups. I rang for 6 days last week to speak to the manager and they just said he was out so think the girls are just overworked but it’s hard for staff to keep motivated lately. Could be better but it’s ok.
Pros
Homes ok.
Cons
Staff not always approachable or there. Other agency’s nicer

Not what it was
Agency Nurse (Former Employee) - Durham - 25 June 2022
I have worked for Durham for almost 4 years and i can honestly say it was the best agency to work for in the North East. This is no longer the case. A major change in staffing in the office has left most of the nursing and care staff disillusioned. The new staff dont seem to have any idea what theyre doing. Theyre all just bumbling about making mistake after mistake. I was given information recently that was not just completey wrong but dangerously so. The office staff members are struggling through lack of knowledge, experience and leadership. Someone needs to sort it out!! I used to work a lot of shifts for Nurseplus but have recently been picking up with another couple of agencies and found the whole experience much better.
Pros
Other branches in the area to join.
Cons

Shift booking system needs a rehaul
Health Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Exeter, Devon - 18 June 2022
The office team are friendly and welcoming enough when joining however seriously lacks in communication once onboarded. Messages will often go unanswered. Most other local agencies have an app for staff to book their shifts, nurseplus is all via whatsapp. Weeks they don't even acknowledge your availablity or offer shifts but then the manager sends out a email asking you to refer friends and family as they have so much work that goes uncovered, while you're sat at home waiting for work offers. While at work I've crossed paths with many other Nurseplus carers who all complain about that disgraceful communication. It seems like the office staff chose what shifts they offered to concern staff resulting in shifts not getting covered and staff not getting work.
Pros
Pay is alright when you actually get work
Cons
Poor shift booking & communication

A Reliable Company
Healthcare Assistant (Former Employee) - Canterbury - 18 June 2022
Temping with Nurseplus is straight forward, uncomplicated. Nice staff who genuinely care about their staff. A good introduction to Healthcare work. Practical, extensive and effective training. Relaxed training presentation. This company is clearly passionate about the care industry.
Pros
Centrally located, good follow ups, nice team.
Cons
Poor pay compared to similar agencies.

Great if you are dedicated and disciplined, work hard and you'll get lots of work. Rewarding work .
Health care auxiliary (Current Employee) - Eastbourne - 18 June 2022
I've worked in care for many years, and love it. The options here are domestic care calls, or establishment, so nursing home and care home , support placements. Some prefer some, some the other. You can mix the two... flexibility is good, you need to be self motivated and disciplined, good at time keeping and you need to care...really care. Don't just look on this as a job, people rely on you. Recently there's been a change of structure, changing hourly care calls to block bookings Meaning many people, mum's etc cannot work longer hours. Also it means more " sit in" shifts which many dislike, this has led to resentment towards the management, and the company are facing some rebellion at the moment. However, if you are sensible, hard working and kind...give it a go. Its rewarding and demanding, with laughter, tears and life experiences.
Pros
Higher wages than most care companies flexible hours
Cons
Long hours, constant pressure to pick up work
