The Dashboard cam is very stressful, activated by the G force. Gonna work most of the weekends for a very small wage. To many demands for this wage. Gonna do you’re things in the van and stash it next to the people’s food...

Managers have no idea how to talk to people, they think that by getting a title makes them entitled to treat people with disrespect, no one else apart from them knows anything. The system they have for the drivers is absolutely wrong they have you in the waiting area for hours because of delays in the warehouse and then it’s down to the driver to contact customers to explain what’s going on without having any knowledge as to what’s happening
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Everything

It was not a great place to work. The business squeezes the most out of you with promises of progression. Management take advantage. Only suitable for young people with no home life dedicated to logging in all evening. No trust to work from home unless it’s beyond your paid hours. Discrimination occurs
Pros
Shares
Cons
Long hours, heavy workload, poor management

not worth it, management is poor, they don’t follow covid rules, the management will treat you like rubbish and they’ll send you home unpaid if they don’t have any work for you.

From being in the Military it has been hard to seek the camaraderie and teamwork in civilian street. Ocado have offered this is many of ways, everyone at the site is in it together and will help each other out. The management at the site are on par with the “staff” and on friendly terms In order to help you strive and succeed within the company. The pay is awesome considering the role you’re doing, the customers are awesome, putting a smile on their faces and having a good old 10 min chat at drops is priceless. I couldn’t fault working at Ocado and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for work or even considering a change in career.
Pros
Teamwork, management team help, pay, camaraderie.
Cons
Some long shifts occasionally but they’re outweighed with happy customers

I started in the warehouse in January and I've already been promoted to another role with a higher pay rate. There are loads of other roles you can move into quite quickly it seems. Management are all really nice and do care about people. Its the cleanest and safest warehouse I've ever worked in. Everyone is really friendly and nice. Some of my friends are coming to work here too. The staff shop opens soon and I hear its amazing! You only work four days a week but can do overtime
Pros
very safe, promotion, staff shop, 4 day week
Cons
weekends

Started off really well when it was still Waitrose partnership. All changed once M&S came onboard. Managers are hit and miss- some really are good, but majority tow company line and do not respect you as a person - you are merely an employee number on a sheet. Half the time they contradict each other; they constantly talk about private information about other colleagues in front of other staff which is very disconcerting.I will say they were very good at dealing with Covid and social distancing. Unfortunately, as I said, once M&S came along, Ocado were so busy trying to impress their managers on visits that they would have us doing a ridiculous impossible target pick as well as doing pointless tasks in order to some how impress these corporate lot. Would suggest they do random visits to see what it’s really like, as we always had at least 2 days of cleaning before anyone came! The job itself is okay it’s pretty monotonous, but so is most warehouse work. My colleagues are really friendly and help with moving heavy pallets when needed. If management left you alone it would be an okay job. The rotas are all online so you can request changes although they areMostly ignored. Pay is slow but expected for this kind of work. I would say the worst part is how poorly they speak to you and don’t see the issue with it. They literally advertise at any point that the CEO wants fully automated warehouses, so we’re made to feel pretty useless. Management will lie and cover each other’s backs and have no care if that leaves you in the crossfire. Would not recommend
Pros
Good benefits 15% discount and a work shop
Cons
Long hours and terrible treatment from some managers

I worked nights. Underpaid and management are a mess. The pay rates are ridiculous, even for a night shift. You’re expected to hit targets every night and if not you are sent to the managers office like a child. There are some good management but most just gossip about your private business and over work you. If you want to work more for less then go for it!
Pros
Break times
Cons
Underpaid

Good job security if you are a good worker and willing to adapt and can do the work, only problems I had was the dark late night shifts in bad weather in the rural places I worked in Hampshire. Met some very nice people and generally was a good vibe and culture everyday, logistic could be a bit more 21st century when it comes to delays that is. Many ideas and things I had that could improve the company and the workers everyday work environment and their feelings of welfare and mindset, great food in the company restaurant/lunch hall. Communication could do with a bit of culture change in regards to how they segregate the seniors from the backbone (drivers deliverers) and how the routes are selected.
Pros
Good food and uniforms are worth wearing.
Cons
Pay should reflect on the profits.

You're just a number. They have no interest in you. You won't advance. There are also some very questionable health and safety practices. The equipment is poorly maintained so your station will go down and you'll often find yourself waiting for a long time before an engineer comes to fix it.

Worst place I've worked poor managers very high turnover of drivers they have their favourites who get easy rounds every shift while everyone else get the rubbish roundsIf trailors running late (quite often due to Trailers using m25) you have to phone all customers to tell them so you get all the stickCamera in cab recording if caught yawning you get points if they have problem with your driving they don't tell you just give you bad routes for weeks on end all in all glad to of left haven't missed it once
Pros
Good mone good vans
Cons
Poor management bad shiftseither to early or to late

Pros - Good training - after 2 days classroom training, they start you out on with fewer drops over a longer period, so you're essentially learning on the job, - Pre-loaded vans and bagged groceries, -Some of the vans are new which are a joy to drive, - Management are helpful and easy to contact if you run into any issues whilst out on route, -If you finish early, you can go home and still get paid for your whole shift, Working on your own, - Customers are mostly nice.
Pros
Occasional early finish with full pay
Cons
Poor management

You will not succeed in the warehouse unless you are romanian or polish. They do not care for other cultures or ethnicities. Managers would speak in polish in the meetings and expect you to learn so you could join in. Work hours and conditions are appalling and dangerous. I was injured at work several times through the fault of other people and was told to be more careful. I will never go back. Get sacked from here was a blessing.
Pros
Onsite parking
Cons
Absolutely everything else.

Complete nightmare, avoid like the plague. Planing is a disaster, management is horrendous. Pay is bad. At work you feel like in prison. You are mainly treated as just another number as they use hand scan numbers to identify you. From day one you are told you are expendible and easily replaceable. The hours are long, the job is repetitive. You have to ask to go to toilet. If you are logged out for more than 10 minutes you will get in trouble. They always have technical issues with either the system or the mechanical equipment that always result in calling overtime.
Pros
None
Cons
Long hours, prison regime treatment, horrendous management, disastrous planing.

Ocado at Birstall Leeds was a great place to work, i left because of the distance from my home, but i have to say that the management and organisation when i look at other driving jobs is in a different league. All the managers were ex drivers, so understand what it's like out on the road. The people that load the vehicles did an amazing job which obviously makes the job so much easier for the driver, Team mates were very helpful too when i was there.Ocado at Birstall Leeds was a great place to start my very first driving job, i would definately recommend.
Pros
Great team work all round.
Cons
Night shift, distance from home.

Shifts bit rubbish and routes badly put together with silly time frames. Sometimes no time at all other times sitting on roadside for hrs waiting for delivery window
Pros
Discount canteen but social distancing not best from warehouse guys. Discount staff shop good
Cons
Can be long days but sometimes you need to fit in. Not treated very well by most managers
