Reviews about Pay & benefits for Delivery Driver at Ocado Group
Very stressful
Ocado Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Peterborough - 1 August 2022
After a month of working at Ocado They start to put the pressure on and have around 21 drops a day do not allow enough time for traffic and also satnav cannot be accurate to find property. Time is everything in this job which they do not allow enough for, almost impossible for toilet stops and break. Parking up to properties can be tricky too
Pros
Free coffee
Cons
Far too stressful no time for toilet stops

Extremely fast paced and not given the training needed.
CSTM Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - 27 July 2022
I worked for Ocado for around 4 months. The aim was to stay with the company on a long term basis as I’d heard good things about working for them. At first I really enjoyed the role, driving was the most enjoyable part as the vans in general were great to drive. A lot of the vans however do have warning lights coming up all over the place which never seemed to get resolved. It started getting bad when I was put on turnaround shifts where basically you go back to the depot half way in between your shift to have the van reloaded for you. The Marshalls load your van up for you so you don’t have to do that. You have to do your van checks etc in the morning which can take up to 15 mins or so depending on how thorough you want to be. I’ve had many shifts where my van hasn’t been loaded before my scheduled departure time meaning I’m already running behind before I even start my route. The DANIs (Delivery and Navigation Instruments) are awful when it comes to getting you around. You can drive up to 200+ miles a day and you can be expected to do sometimes 6 deliveries in an hour slot which could be 15 minutes apart from one another. Routing is usually appalling and will get you going back and forth all day past the same addresses. When you’re running behind, you’re expected to contact all your customers on route to let them know, which in turn slows you down even further. This can add 20 minutes + to your route by having to call up to 20+ customers. I was given one day training with a trainer to improve my pace as I was going too slow for the company. I was advised -

Good place
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Cheadle Hulme, Greater Manchester - 18 June 2022
I have enjoyed working there . Easy job and good pay. Once you finish your drops you can go home early. You don’t load your van. Always overtime available if you want to make extra money .
Pros
Go home early
Cons
Nothing
