Recently Left Due to unfair workload
Patient Advisor (Former Employee) - Dundee, Dundee City - 13 January 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by Indeed1 year in my boss was let go and so was a colleague. That left me on my own for the area I covered. This left me with all responsibility of the whole clinic. Patients and staff come last with this company. Very sneaky management that are keen to pass bad feedback to head office so their staff look better. 2 days clear of this company and already feel 10x better, avoid at all costs. I nearly lost myself working here.

Really enjoy working at Optical Express. Joined the business as a call handler with no call centre experience at all and was made to feel welcome and part of the team very quickly. Optical Express believe if you work hard, it will pay off as the opportunies to progress within the business are fantastic. Friendly and approachable staff in a great working environment with support there if and when needed. Learning on a daily basis and on the job training given.

Great learning experience
Call Centre Agent (Current Employee) - Glasgow City Centre, Glasgow - 14 March 2023
Such a great place to work, learn and grow. Managers are very understanding and do their best to make sure you thrive in the workplace. I feel that my needs are also met, especially being a student and studying as well. I feel heard as an employee and grateful to experience being a part of a patient’s journey . Highly recommend.

Career Opportunities
Contact Centre Advisor (Current Employee) - Glasgow City Centre, Glasgow - 8 March 2023
Having worked here for a couple of years now it's clear to see we tend to promote within and give opportunities to those who deserve it. Really enjoy my time here and everyone from contact centre management to directors are all approachable. Contact centre managers treat you like an adult until other companies and don't have them breathing down your neck.
Pros
Progression, positivity, passion for patients wellbeing
Cons

Great place to work
Patient advisor (Current Employee) - St Vincent Street Glasgow - 7 March 2023
Fantastic place to work, very accommodating of work lifestyle balance, good pay for what my role involves. Great bonus scheme, holidays never an issue. Wouldn’t really call it a call centre as completely different culture to any I’ve worked in previously. Work with friendly people and no stress.
Pros
Free treatment and discounted glasses

Optical Express is a fantastic place to work with supportive colleagues. I have been working here for just over a year and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Delivering an exceptional service for our patients is at the core of what we do and the most rewarding aspect is providing life changing vision correction options for our patients.

Great company
Clinic Manager (Current Employee) - Aberdeen, Aberdeen City - 15 September 2022
I started in June 2022, from the day I started I have loved my job. I am always learning new aspects to the role which makes it very interesting. Great support from head office, all senior management are very approachable and just a phone call away. On-going training plans for staff to keep everyone up to date. It is such a rewarding job, great seeing patients go through laser eye surgery and how life changing it is for them. I have a great work life balance. A very friendly working environment.
Pros
Supportive management. Friendly working environment.

Fast paced, with power blinded managers
Customer Representative (Former Employee) - Glasgow City Centre, Glasgow - 20 July 2022
Optical Express cold calling centre was competitive with daily "competitions" for who could get the most "sales" (read: consultation bookings). This then translated into stress, and trying to get anyone in for consultations regardless if the customer would even need it. They took one period of sick leave on my part as two strikes (apparently they have a three strikes and out system). I took that opportunity to leave, after 6 short months working there.

A busy environment but enjoyable
Supervisor (Current Employee) - Belfast City Centre, County Antrim - 20 May 2022
I've worked for Optical Express Belfast almost 7 years now and although there have changes in the role over the years I thoroughly enjoy my job. I enjoy meeting new people everyday and learning about the innovative and exciting ways we can change our customers lives. With our new state of the art clinic inclusive of the latest technology, Optical Express Belfast is an amazing place to work. I would definitely recommend applying for one of the job vacancies if you enjoy team work, helping to change lives and providing excellent customer service.

Great place to work
Optometrist (Current Employee) - Stirling - 20 May 2022
Having been qualified for over 11 years as an Optometrist, I felt I had seen most of what could be offered from general practice level. Being trained on the surgery side of consultations and post-ops has given me a new lease of professional life and kept my clinical brain refreshed. Training has been excellent and I work with a fantastic team. Really enjoying it here.
